After good luck buying NOS "Original Mustang" zebrawood combat grip for a Ruger Speed Six I decided to chance one with finger grooves from a seller who didn't know what they fit. I figured they'd fit some revolver I own and for $30 I'd take a chance. They turned out to fit a Model 64 S&W RB I own but the grooves have to go as they made it too uncomfortable. It's a good rainy day project and it's raining today so the dremel is coming out. I'm no woodworker so IMG_2477.JPG this may not be pretty.

Nice job of making something to be more ergonomic and work better for you!

Time and effort well spent!

Being the odd man out in many things; those grips look marvelous. And, I don't like finger grooves anyway, none of them ever 'fit' my hands.
I have a Dremel (brand and function) tool (since the 1960s, I think) and I remember screwing up many projects with it. In my youth I was far too impatient. Slow and careful works for better results. Now that I'm retired, 'wasting time' is a far better way of doing things.

And Mustang grips were always excellent grips in that they always fit the frame - grip rails. They were normally of good wood and sometimes excellent grain. As mentioned, the finger grooves could stay or not.

Good on you, Stoney. All the way around.

This is the first Mustang I bought for a Ruger Speed Six 2 3/4" which was new in the original box. I like the Zebrawood on stainless. IMG_2413.JPG
