We need a section for cast bullets.

Anyway,I have ask this question on a few other sites. I've been casting off and on for 40 plus years. It's time to down size. I want only one or two molds. 38/357 only. What would be you favorite choice if it were you?. For revolver and lever rifle.. appreciate your feed back...john

I would keep my Lachmiller 160 gr. SWC and my Lee 125 RNFP. The 160 SWC is excellent in my 4" 357 Mag and OK in my 38 Specials (2" and 3"). I have had very good results with the 125 gr. Lee RNFP in 38 Specials, 357 Magnums and 9mm, just size appropriately...

I really like the 358156. The original Lyman mold is fine, but I have even better results from several different brands of custom molds. It and Hornady's HBWC are just about the only bullets I use in the .357 Magnum.

358156 makes nice bullets. I have a single cavity for them, wish I had a double cavity. Also 200 gr which is fantastic in my 38 but to long to feed in my Rossi 92.

You can modify the lifter to accept a longer overall length.
I do have to seat my 125rf 38s a little longer too prevent jambs now. But it was an excellent trade off.
I am relatively new to casting. I bought cast bullets for a long time until I happened on a bunch of cheap lead. I am running a 200 RF and 125 RF for 38 molds. I agree we could use a casting section.

I wish there was an adjustable lifter with ranges in the manual for length. Most people are happy with a middle selection that run both. A longer selection for heavy 357s for target work would be very nice, I have to seat my 180s deep.

I’m not sure the model. But i sure would like a web 180 grain mould from accurate. That and then the RCBS 38-150-swc I think would be my choices.

My 38s feed good. The 200 gr bullet is to long for the 357 case..
That's common. It's from the initial development of the 38-44 where all cases were the same length and just the charges were increased. When 357 was Sammi speced they chopped .100 off of bullet length of a 38. Dumbest move ever.

I am using 2 Lee molds; their 125gr RNFP and 158 gr RNFP.

As far as I'm concerned, these 2 will do 95% of what I want to do, holes in paper and with their large, flat meplat, some hunting (small game at least) isn't out of the question.

I have boxes of XTP's to load but these 2 molds are my "go to".

I would also vote for a casting section if possible.

If you're looking to have a heavy and light bullet. The 180WFN is short enough to feed 357 without seating deep.
Plus one on selling your molds in the trading section.

What brand is the 180 gr? I've been looking for the rare lee 170. Can't find one anywhere..

The 180WFN I shot was from MBC. I'm not sure who's bullet they use.
NOE makes a 360-182 WFN. I went with the Lee 200 because my R92 is modded to accept the longer COAL.
