24/7 Big Dot Express Sights

Bought some for my G19 last month and love them. Installed in about 20 minutes.

Not sure how/if they will work for the PM40.

I used them on a friend's glock 19 and have to say I prefer traditional notched night sights on that type of weapon. The sight alignment with the big dot isn't as natural to me, and my accuracy suffered. I tended to hit high beyond 15 yards because you have to cover up the lower half of the "donut" with the rear sight at longer ranges.

With that said, I also have a big dot on my M&P 340 (.357 snub), but it has an integral notched U rear sight, which works better for the big dot in my opinion. It shines on these types of weapons, because fast target acquisition is more important than longer range accuracy.

In addition I have a big dot (front sight only) on my remington 870 and it works great as a shotgun bead!

Definitely not good for targets past 15 yards. I find their strength to be quick "defensive" use at closer range with my G19.

They are fast and accurate for "minute of torso" self-defense shots. It you also plan to punch a lot of paper with the same gun, you will find that the big front dot prevents you from making carefully aimed shots easily.

For carry only, I think it is a very good choice. (yes, I own a set on a Kahr K9)

I don't shoot it often because it isn't one of my primary SD pistols, but you can't help but notice the "big dot" when presenting the pistol. Just place big dot over target and press the trigger. It is much easier and faster to find the dot compared to traditional iron sites where you sometimes have to look for it. You don't really notice the rear sight or slide frame even. I would imagine that it would be helpful to track moving targets as well.

It just isn't meant to be a precision sighting system, so don't expect to be cloverleafing all of your shots.

"front sight gun fight" that is what they are good for. I put them on most all my carry guns.

I have them on my Robar Alloy Extreme, which is a steel version of a Glock 17. They are very fast sights, which is good for a defensive/shoot fast gun. Just put the front sight on the target, center in the "V", and the sight picture is good. For my informal IDPA shooting, they work well. I am even considering a pair for a 1911 as my eyes continue to get worse.

For accurate shooting at distance (say above 15 yards) , I have no trouble with them at all for windage. The dot sitting on top of the "V" makes it easy for windage as all you have do is center the dot left to right. I do have some trouble getting elevation right consistently at that and longer distances. It is hard for me to explain, but I have issue with getting a repeatable sight picture. I have to remind myself to put the dot just above the "V" and put the target just above the dot. My inclination is to put the dot on the target, which does work so well when shooting quickly at shorter distances. But at distances, the front sight obscures the target.

For a carry gun, these seem to be a good choice. They are solid, allow one handed slide racking, and are fast.

Quite right, a Google search of the guy yield unimpressive allegations of being a coward, being full of himself, getting people killed in Iraq, and so on. My point wasn't to promote the guy. My point is that he is on video using big dot sights hitting a target that I don't think I'd hit without a scope. I've seen a bunch of his videos and I still think they are good in of themselves.

I have them on 2 of my carry pistols. I love them. Nice quick sight picture and you don't have to hunt for the front sight. As long as you realize that these aren't target sights you won't be disappointed. I have them on an XD45 Compact and a G30 and have no problems hitting qualification targets at 25 yards.

I have a set on my Colt Defender. Everyone is correct. I'd like to add that you be winning any bullseye matches with them, but they are FAST.

I have a set on my Glock 17. I kind of wish i had gone with the standard dot front sight. The Big Dot is just a little too big for my taste. They are definately fast though.

imho they are the best sights on the market for defense, all of my fighting handguns have xs sights, and soon i will put a set on my ar/ ak/ and shotgun too.
