its 5.56 brass. & after i run it threw the Lee full length resizing die. their is
an orange peal or little divots in the brass where the tapper is between powder part of the shell & where the bullet seats. this cant be normal. I backed off the die & all the brass is lubed good. but still doing it. Is this a bad thing ? PS these reloads will be going threw a M-Ranch 14 & AR-15

Too much lube causing dents in the shoulder. They will shoot fine if they chamber. Ease up on the lube.

I do not understand your question-mostly due to sentence structure+spelling-but I think what you are describing is lube dents due to over-lubing cases. After lubing cases, lightly wipe off excess lube from neck/shoulder area, before you re-size. Too much lube=dents on shoulder area.

sorry about my spelling. & yes i did lube them up real good. As long as the brass wont hurt any thing. all use it. & start wiping off all the excess lube. Thanks guys

Hiya, Hukser!

Since you've already over-lubricated those cases, be sure to use a solvent and clean out your die set before using it again. Leftover lube dries and mucks up the dies badly.

Those dents do reduce case volume very slightly. Just make sure you don't use max loads. And run them through your chamber (and close the bolt) before you load them, just to make sure the shoulder is pushed back far enough for a semiauto rifle.

Best of luck, friend. Go have fun.

More Variables...

Sounds like the lube issue is yours; another variable that can cause similar phenomena is unburned powder granules. Ball powder isn't usually a player, but stick powder can leaver unburned granules in the chamber and these can imprint the case. Autos are the usual culprits as bolt action and other manually operated actions don't tend to leave flotsam & jetsam in the chamber, but all can do so. These imprints aren't localized on the neck or bottlenecik like lube prints, but they can show up there, too. Just more stuff to consider...
