lee Reloader single stage press

There is a hole near the primer exit opening in the ram that allows the primers to (95% of the time) fall into the body of the press. I mounted my press on spacers and have a small plastic tray under the body of the press to catch the primers that go where they are supposed to. For the 5% that go flying around, may I suggest a hand-held vacuum? Either that or a press with a primer catching system (classic cast, etc)

I made a riser block with a slide-out aluminum tray to catch the primers.
I just clamp the block down to the bench when I use it for de-priming.

Using a pice of 1/2" PVC water pipe and an old funnel, I cut out one side of the funnel top, bent the PVC at a shallow angle to allow the primers to fall into an old coffee can hung off the end. I jury rigged a bracket to hold this assembly up close to the slot in the ram and now almost all of the spent primers land in the funnel and are carried into the coffee can catcher. You'll have to figure out the angles yourself as no two people mount their presses the same. PVC pipe is easy to bend if you have a heat gun.

I like rc...I have an old aluminum ice tray under my bench with a hole drilled clean through the bench top under my Lee single stage. It takes a long time to fill that tray...

I bolted my Reloader to the bench over a hole drilled through the bench. Under the press I nailed a baby food jar lid with a large hole in the lid. When the jar is full unscrew it and dump it in a gallon pickle jar, then screw it back on to continue. I don't have to remove the press ever.

Kestak, I have the press that came with the anniversary set, the primers went everywhere until I read the instructions and put the metal primer arm into the ram when depriming, since then I haven't had any go anywhere but in the primer catching tube.

Love those little Lee presses for de and re capping. I have a 3/4" hole under my decap Reloader and a short tube in it that empties into a pill bottle. But I really like RC's solution too, I though my solution was easy to do but it's not THAT easy! Good idea RC.

I was losing an occasional spent cap out the side of my ram too. Didn't like that, so I glued (Crazy Glue) two narrow strips of scrap rubber, 3/16" thick, 1/4" wide, 1 1/2" long to the body, one strip on either side of the vertical hole. Those filled the narrow body-to-ram gap and I lose NO spent primers now. Wood or plastic strips would work as well.

I was having the same problem with my Lee turret press. Then I found out accidently one evening that if I just installed the primer seater thing (http://www.leeprecision.com/graphics/parts/2889.jpg), it forced the spent primer into the hole it's supposed to go.

I, also, found that if I stuff a piece of styrafoam (fitted) in the priming adapter slot that directs the primers properly and I don't have to have a priming system, that I don't use, installed just to direct spent primers...

Bushmaster - good idea. I tried a piece of plastic drinking straw with only so-so results. Might try the styrafoam idea. It is silly to have to install a primer piece to deprime a case. Kind of like pressing Start on Windows when you want to End.
