Glock 31C 357 SIG

Have a Glock 31 with NS, got mine about a 1 1/2 years ago. Mine was not the factory Comp. I have another Sig 229S in 357 Sig that has a factory comp. And A S&W M&P in 357 Sig. The 357 Sig are loud compared to a typical auto pistol and they get even louder with a comp. That is not an issue for me but it bothers some.

Typical 357 Sigs seem very reliable and flat shooting. The Glock 31 doesn't seem anywhere near as sensitive to limp wristing compared to the Glock 17 in 9mm. Fail to feed doesn't seem to be an issue at all with any 357 Sig I have used.

Something I did not realize till after I got my G31 is the chamber is fully supported. Not sure if the old ones used fully supported chambers but my newer one is. So you may want to check the one you are looking at out.

I have had the best luck for accuracy in the 357 Sig with the 125 grain Speer Gold Dot bot factory loads and handloads.

Some people complain about cost of 357 Sig ammo but having been a 45 Auto user for years it seems cheaper to shoot than typical 45 Auto loads.

the problem i have seen with the 357 sig (I want one) is the utterly unavailability of practice ammunition... the self defense ammo is no more expensive than most other cartridges in quality loads.

I guess it just depends upon where you live.
Here in NC, the two local Walmarts in my area have Winchester white box .357 Sig target ammo sitting on the shelf, but no .40 or 9mm ammo at all.

First of all, I wouldn't trade the Python.

I think whatever role you're looking to fill with the Glock is already filled (better, IMO) by the XDM. If you really want a .357Sig, you could trade in the XDM and get an XD in .357Sig. The improvements of the XDM over the XD are pretty slight.

IMO, XDs/XDMs are absolutely as durable and reliable as Glocks, while being more comfortable (your milage may vary).

Actually, if your Python is worth "at least" $1000, buying an XD in .357Sig without trading anything would cost you about the same as trading a 1K gun for a $550 gun. And you'd still have your wheel gun.

At any rate, I don't think I'd make a trade like this guy wants -- you'd be down a good bit of money. Less money = less guns.

Save your money then buy it.
