Steel Case .45 ACP

No it is not. I used to shoot Wolf 45 ammo with great satisfaction all the time before I started reloading my own.

Older, 1950's era U.S. Military steel case .45 ammunition would rip off the extractor hook in a 1911 pistol. I did shoot a lot of it in 1917 revolvers though. The new stuff may be O.K., but I'd rather handload brass cases then use it.

I've put many, many rounds of Wolf and Tula steel case .45ACP through my 1911 and my P-220 with no ill effects other than the need for a good cleaning. It's pretty dirty IMO.

I picked up a case of wolf .45 a few years ago. I ran it all through my SIG P220 w/o incident.

Be careful of buying a lot of that ammo as i found out my local indoor range will NOT allow you shoot steel cased ammo.They say it messes up their recycling program.

I feel thats BS because if i decide to leave my brass behind for them,it allows them to make a few extra bucks.But when we try and save a few bucks by using this ammo we cant as it makes it harder for them to make that extra cash off us.
Mabey im wrong on this,but its how i feel.

I'd be looking for another range. At least with steel cases all you have to do is run a magnet across the pile of cases to separate them. What I find really irritating is sorting brass cases that are Berdan primed.
