As some may know, and many may not, the House and Senate joint Facilities committee Banned "dangerous weapons" from the State house and surrounding buildings. Here's some background.
So, Show up in Concord next Wednesday and help get across the message that we will not stand for NH taking any stand against the US 2nd amendment, as well as NH's 2a rights!
Some people have stated they will be going with non-empty holsters, as this is not a law, just a building regulation, the worst they can do is ask you to leave.
I'm going to leave my gun in the car, I think it makes a bigger statement.
A couple of days before Christmas of 2009, the House and Senate joint Facilities committee met to take care of the usual business of overseeing the State House Complex. The agenda was set and nothing was on it regarding state house security. One of the Republican members of the committee had announced he had to leave the meeting early, nothing was said to him. As the meeting got the the point of closing one of the Democrat members of the committee announce they had one more issue to address. It was then that the Republican members knew they where about to see the end of real safety at the State House Complex.
It is not hard to understand their outrage as a vote ensued and right down party lines the Democrats defeated the protests and no votes of the Republicans and created a new regulation.
I expect you all know by now that the Facilities committee has banned
"dangerous weapons" from the State House, LOB and Upham Walker House.
The feedback that I have gotten is that you are all anxious to express your displeasure to the majority party which perpetrated this act. I am hoping to have hundreds of citizens roaming the halls of the State House the morning of Jan 6, the first Session Day between approximately 9A to 11A, wearing empty holsters.
Please spread this far and wide.
