And saw an advertisement for Henry rifles. That's the first time I've seen an advertisement for a gun company during a "mainstream" show, ever. And it did it's work, a Henry lever-action is on the short list.

Huh, that might have been a local thing. I did not see it.
Not sure how local it could be, it was on Directv on FX. Just thought it was odd is all, I do see it all the time on Discovery and Outdoor, but never during the season premiere of a highly rated (and watched) show. That had to cost a good bit.

On a related note, lately I've been seeing local TV ads for the P2K shooting range, which quite--but pleasantly--surprised me.

I hope they start a trend and other gun companies advertise main stream... but it would probably just end up raising prices on the guns to pay for the ads...

My wife an I were watching the show and when that commercial came on we both looked at each other and said ***?

We both agreed that aside from the sportsman channel or infomercial, it was the first gun commercial we remember seeing since...forever.

Here Too

We have been seeing those Henry ads here too.

We're kinda tickled about it.

Looking forward to some Marlin ads.

Heck, start with the traditional pieces, then gradually work your way to more modern stuff.

Imagine: Ruger advertising the LCP on national TV.

"But wait -- there's more! Call now, in the next 20 minutes, and we'll throw in this genuine leather holster!"

:D

Bring it on!

I have seen the ad on History channel and it was refreshing to see a firearm manufacturer advertising on tv. Dish network for me.

Theres a gunshop in NH thats been advertising, Looks really good other than it being a two hour drive away.

That's like the same feeling I had when I saw both a Henry ad and an ad for a local gunshop in the Cleveland Plain Dealer. If you ever read the Plain Dealer, which has been staunchly anti-gun, anti-2nd Amendment, and anti-CCW, for over 40 years, you could only conclude that they must be extremely hard up for advertising revenue.

But I still did a double take when I saw it.

I saw that commercial last nite, we have Direct TV. I don't remember what channel it was. And even satelite tv is somewhat regional, and I'm in the bible belt, Missouri.
