I just picked up a Benelli M2 Tactical with ghost ring and ComforTech stock. I was wondering about some add ons. I'd like to put a side saddle on it, but I have heard that a side saddle can cause reliability problems, if the scews are tightened too far into the receiver. I have read that some side saddles are attached by velcro.

Are there reliable mag. extentions for the M2?

Has anyone found a way to attach a light to the forearm, and not the barrel - recoil operated system?

I would like to be able to shoot slugs from the M2 also. Has anyone had success with slugs and a smoothbore Benelli? What choke works well for both buckshot and slugs in the Benelli?

Yes, screws shouldn't protrude into the action for any gun.

M2s, being inertia driven, don't like a lot of crap hung off them.

Mag extensions...Nordic Components is what I hear from the 3-gun guys. Haven't done it yet as my gun is for HD next to the bed.

Light...Surefire sells a forearm....617FG I believe. Tape switch for grip activation along with clickable on/off buttons. Expensive, but it says Surefire on the side.

Haven't played with slugs, but my gun loves Federal Flite Control 00 buck (full power, reduced recoil wouldn't cycle). I believe I have IC in the gun all the time.
 
Skip the side saddle.

If you want to make some functional upgrades to your Benelli, order the Nordic Components tube extension, barrel/tube clamp and charging handle. They're excellent products.

If you want to attach a light to the forearm, I believe that Surefire makes a Benelli replacement forearm, but it's probably kind of spendy (though no doubt it's high quality.)

For shooting slugs, use the cylinder or improved cylinder choke. It'll shoot accurately out to 100+ yards, though you'll have to do some practice to figure out where your hold is.

I'm excited. Benelli is offering a $150 rebate on these guns until the end of the year. Anything helps.
 
Just yesterday I got a mag extension and light mount from Nordic for my Benelli Supernova. Quality is top notch, and their shipping was super fast. Highly recommend.
 
I had a Nordic mag extension on my M2 tactical about a year and a half ago. The tube use to come loose after a few shots each time. A total pain in the ass...and I tried everything to keep it tight (grease, plumber's tape, vise gripping it tight but not overly tight to prevent from stripping the threads).

don't hang crap off the side, the gun doesn't like it.

slugs are awesome accurate out of the M2, 100 yards isn't a tough shot.

I got an M2 Tactical not too long ago. It is a great gun, but doesn't cycle low recoil loads well, which I sort of expected would be the case.
 
Mine cycles bird shot (8s) well. The week I picked mine up, I ran a box of 8s and a box of high brass 4s through it. No problem with either. I'll keep an eye open for any problems.

Perhaps, but I took two people to the range, one with very little shotgun time, and neither of the two including myself had any problem getting the M2 to cycle with 8s.

Mine doesnt cycle the low recoil shells regardless.
 
Santa-wife brought me an M2 tactical for Christmas, so I haven't had a chance to shoot it, let alone take it apart. But I was wondering, is it possible to change springs so it recycles the light loads? My Browning A5 has a lighter spring setting for lighter loads. I sure would like to get some practice in on the cheap using target loads.

With the Benelli system it would work better the looser you hold it, allowing the shotgun to recoil to the rear more. I think, anyway.

I have a 21" M2 with the Nordic Components tube extension, bolt handle, and mag follower. I have had no problems with any of these shooting everything from #8 birdshot to 00 buck.
