Hi I have the chance to buy a Stevens model 67 20g pump shotgun for cheap. Barrel was cut down to 18.5. How good would this be? We only have bolt action rifles which worries me. Its not mint but I don't mind since the price is good. Thinking birdshot followed by buck? I don't mind if its not worth money I plan to keep it. Just how good it will be. Thanks again thr!

Ok thanks guys. What number buck should I get? Also it was made into a pistol grip but what do you guys prefer. Stock or pistol? I'll have to get use to pistol since Idk if there's aftermarket parts for it.

Mine was a total piece of junk. It made allot of trips to the gun smith before I got rid of it. It was a really bad gun. Mine was a 67 E... if it makes any difference

Won any lotteries lately? If your luck is good then you might get a good stevens 67 that will hold up OK. But it's the luck of the draw with that design IMHO. It isn't one of the most durable out there. They tend to break action bars a lot, and the stocks tend to break off the back of the trigger plate. Some examples hang in there for decades, some break down with not a lot of abuse. It's a crap shoot, pretty much.

How cheap is cheap? Can you afford to throw the $$$ away without kicking yourself if you get a lemon? If not, look for a used 870 or Mossberg 500, or consider a Pardner Pump...

jmho, fwiw,

I always win the tbell coin thing if that counts? Hmm I can find anything close to the price of it. Cheapest used shotty I found so far was a used c.d. pump for $200 :/

Where did you buy the pistol grip? I have a stevens/savage 67 E...12 ga. pump and looking for a pistol grip.
