Picked up a 58 Remmie today, its made by Pietta. Was told that it was SS, but it turned out to be blued but still New never fired. I looked the frame over and can not find the DATE stamp anywhere on it. The gentleman I got it from said it came from Cabela's about 3yrs ago, he was too scared of chain fires to shoot it

Hey Ranger, my family's from Texas, [they had to leave Carolina after the ''Late Unpeasantness''] my grandpa had about ten brothers so our folks are still scattered all about down there.My neice is in college down there, and my little nephew lives in Pittsburg, Texas...

Just shot the engraved .45 1890, and man, am I impressed. I shot Goex home rolled black powder loads and smokeless Schofield and ''Long'' Colt loads through it, and it performed like a trooper.
