New Midway USA Ad misprint?

Please look at the picture below. Its advertised pretty much for free.... Do you think they have to honor the ad price? Should I try?

I spotted that too.

Worth a shot I guess.

Online they list it as "$62.99 you save $7.00", and in their online catalog it is listed correctly. Guess they just screwed up on the paper version.

I doubt it. Most catalogs and advertisements have some fine print somewhere that says something like "Prices are subject to change without notice."

OTOH, if you find a competitor that promises to "beat any advertised price," you could have a lot of fun ordering an enormous quantity ("I'll take 10,000, please"). :evil:
 
I also that, It is a misprint. If you want to force the issue I suppose they would probably honor it.

I do not think it would be right to do so, or that it would hold up in a court if taken that far.

If I was to actually purchase that particular item I would inquire first as to what the real asking price was.

Kind of like years ago I was at the local Ford dealer looking for a new PU. The yard boy had accidently? swapped and pasted the wrong sticker on two different F250 4X4 trucks. One was a bare bones, and the other had every option available. I went in the showroom and asked a salesman if I could take any truck out there for the sticker price out the door. He said sure, I well, I will be back tomorrow, and if the sticker on that dressed out F250 is still the same, I will take you up on it. They changed the sticker. Difference was almost $20K
 
they dont have to honor it....and i bet they wont

i saw a dodge for sale for $1200 in an ad when i was in high school...went to look at it, and while i was deciding if it was worth 1200 the salesman said it was misprinted and it was 12,000....i laughed hysterically and left

another good example - Ducati USA put up 1 piece leather racing suits for sale .... they cost somewhere around 1700 or 1800 retail, and were on sale 15% off....well instead of marking off 15% they went for sale for 15% of base price (200 something dollars or something like that)......bunch of people i knew jumped on it and ordered 4-5 suits online just to resell them...tons of people all over wera forums ordered them etc

next day everybody got a cancellation email saying their order was cancelled
 
I called them and messed with the lady. I told her I would take 50, part number.......for $0.00 as advertised in their mailer. She didn't go for it and laughed at my attempt. Oh well....I would have even kicked in $60 for shipping!!
 
Welllll...........They have great customer service for sure but that is a little over the top.:D Good to know that we all can laugh a bit when a mistake is made.:cool:
 
legally they don't have to honor it. on a side note, that looks exactly like a cheap sighmark sight i used to have. did truglo buy them out or something?
 
I've seen a lot of basic low-level gun accessories, like tools, made on the same design or even by the same manufacturer, then branded by the selling company.

Ever wonder why tools from Pep Boys and Autozone often seem alike? Track them far enough, and some of them are made in the same factories, on the same machines, and just stamped different at the end. Some companies designate different materials or tolerances.
 
Truglo, Sightmark and BSA all have sights that look just like this. I have the BSA and I can honestly say that the sale price is appropriate. Here's a tip: Don't put one of these on a 12 gauge that you're going to shoot slugs with. Might work OK on a BB gun. For a while. :rolleyes:

I bettin' that too. A few month's back, Gamaliel Shooting Supply had some Speer .45cal bullets I was interested in and had them listed for X dollars for a box of 100. Everyplace else on the internet had them listed for a coupla bucks cheaper, but their price was for a box of 50. Thinkin' it was a misprint on their website, I called and was assured the price the shown was for a box of 100. I even asked the sales rep's name so if there was a problem I could refer to her. So I ordered 5 boxes. Yep, sure enough when they showed up, instead of 500 bullets I had 250. Called again, and asked for the same sales rep and told her what happened. Got transferred to someone else who was upset that I was upset about getting half as many bullets as advertised. When I told her I questioned the quantity and was assured BEFORE I ordered that it was correct, I asked her to adjust either the price or the quantity. The adjustment for price I was offered still had the bullets more than anyplace else on the internet. She would not tho, give me the adjusted price on the other 250 bullets if I still wanted 500. Because of this, I asked for them to take the bullets back and credit my card. I was told they don't take bullets back that were ordered wrong. Twenty minutes later, and trying to find out how all this was my fault, the lady from Gamaliel, finely shouted.... "Fine, have them on your porch tomorrow morning!" and hung up on me.

Guess who don't get my business anymore.
 
Retailers do not have to honor misprints in advertising if is is an honest mistake, there is usually small print that states this fact. They can be held legally liable if it was a case of false advertising or "bait and switch" tactics, but in this case, it is obvious that someone made a mistake.
 
A price in an ad is not legally an offer; it is an "offer to make an offer." They do not have to legally advertise it. Even if it was an offer, obvious mistakes are not legally considered binding offers if someone tries to accept it.

That's enough to drive you mad. Ironically, the people/companies who pull that crap...they often have no backbone and give in quicker, as well as being more subject to emotional outbreaks and becoming quickly irate. It's all so twisted yet it makes sense to those who have it.
