I've been invited on a whitetail hunt just down the road in a 200 acre wooded farm. The 3 people I will be going with ask that we use handguns. I have a Taurus 627 which is a 357 mag. I need opinions on what bullet to load. Weight and type. I was told to keep the velocity up to around 1300 1400 fps for the shock power. I know nothing about deer hunting with a pistol. I have shot 2 over the years with a 12 gauge slug and that is it. (Ohio rule) I have on hand 125 and 158 gr xtps, 158 lead swc, 125 gr Rainier ccfp and bought 500 125 gr jhp with a real soft nose I use for punching paper. Problem with them is when I shoot them into sand for testing when loading the jackets separate from the lead. Would anyone of these work? Could anyone point me in the right direction. rj
