So the joke thread about the .50bmg revolver got me thinking along silly lines about the idea of a 12ga shotgun revolver. Of course that got me thinking about the Russian 5 shot 12ga revolver shotgun that I'd give a seldom used body part to get. Which got me to wondering about the idea of a 12ga handgun revolver.
I base this on having shot a short barrel shotgun from the hip and currently working on a pistol grip SxS sawed off "pirate" gun for S&G's in Cowboy Action. So I can actually see a 12ga handgun as being reasonably viable. In practice it wouldn't be any worse than shooting a .500 S&W. And obviously it would be as long but likely deeper and a little heavier back around the cylinder and frame.
I'd want to limit it to trap loads or "controlled recoil" buck. But MAN! What a blast such a gun would be.
Comments? Or should I just self admit myself to the Retreat for Crazy Inventor's Asylum?
