Happy New Year! Any new/different reloading plans for 2012?

Add 1 possibly 2 presses to the line up

Happy New Year!

1. Reload more ammo than I shoot now that the LNL is setup and working

2. Figure out how to make lots of rifle ammo fast and safely

3. Find the most accurate load for my AR.

4. Maybe build a better bench.

I'm always looking for a better .223 and 30-06 load although the ones I now load are great.

I have to get in gear and load up all the M1 Garand brass I have set aside from the Greek M1 ammo I shot this year.

1. Buy a nice Mosin 91/30 to go with my M44.

2. Get all my brass stored in coffee cans cleaned and prepped to load.

3. Stock up on more components.

4. Stockpile more lead for casting.

5. Buy a couple custom bullet molds.

As a side note, the M91/30 is a lot more fun to shoot than the M44.

Yes. I finally shot up about 500 rounds of 8mm Mauser without finding any corrosive stuff. So now I gotta load up some real actual deer hunting rounds. Hello, Midway?

1. Stock up on powder, bullets, primers and lead.

I am getting scared at the possibility of Obama getting reelected and its time to stockpile before its too late.

2. Buy an AR or 3 to have for a rainy day.

I want to keep count of how much I reload, what calibers and exactly how many of each caliber.

And the same for shooting.

As a side note, the M91/30 is a lot more fun to shoot than the M44.

Well not anymore really since I don't shoot surplus HB ammo through it,it mostly get a steady diet of cast bullet loads through it nowadays and a occasional J bullet hand load.

I have a lace on recoil pad I can put on at anytime. The kick doesn't bother me it that steel butt plate that cut into my bony shoulder that used to give me a problem.

1. Load more than I did in 2011 (which won't be hard to do).
2. Find the time to get out and hunt.
3. Vote everyone currently in-office out.

Load something or at least do some kind of case prep every day. That's gonna require acquiring more handgun brass or shooting more.

I hope to finally get one of those dispenser/scale combo's. The prices have been coming down lately.

I need to sort through my rifle brass and come up with a better way to store the brass that is in various stages of prep.

Most of my brass was in storage boxes, but have recently gotten bored and started to process all of it. A good portion is now processed, but I have batches of brass in various stages of prep (a few hundred needing FL sizing, others that need triming, and others that are in the process of being hand primed). Once processed and primed, I'm obviously done and then just need to charge and tip. Pistol brass is easy, just clean and store.

Not likely to happen, but would like to start loading for .308 Win, but need a rifle (preferably Bolt Action, but will not turn down an AR) in that caliber.

My focus this year is likely to be on my AR in .223 Rem. Just got it and am trying to settle down the various bullets I've decided to try.

1.) Keep my reloading bench clean and organized.

2.) Build a proper storage container for my powder.

3.) Process all that .223 brass I have laying around.

4.) Load all of that .38 special I have laying around.

5.) Enjoy my .45 again.

I am switching from Montana Gold 9mm, 124gr FMJ to Precision Delta 147gr FMJ. Other than that, I'm pretty much just cranking out the 9's.

Well the biggest thing to work on this year will be cleaning up and sorting my pile of fired brass so I can actually see how much of what I actually own. I just purchased some brass only to find I already had three times as much stored away that I forgot I already owned.

1. Start reloading again (haven't hit the bench since moving into my new house last year)
2. Learn to reload rifle, starting with .30 carbine
3. Get out and shoot more
4. Compile all my hand-written records into a spreadsheet

Simple answer: reload more, shoot more, have more fun, and make sure I can continue doing so for the forseeable future.

Long answer: I've got a newer LnL-AP press, I want to get the case feeder setup and build a bullet feeder as well. Heck, I might just build them both, they do look like fun and relatively easy projects. Essentially I want to end up to as close as possible to a fully automated ammo factory. Who knows, I might even try to figure out a better primer system. Tubes of a hundred just don't do it for me, I'd much rather have a hopper of 1,000 since that's my usual batch size.

Add to my gun collection. I "need" another AR-15, .30-06 rifle, an SKS, a handy 12ga shotgun for defending the castle, and a revolver in some big honkin' cartridge like .500S&W Mag or .800 Nitro Express or possibly 30mm.

I really do need to reorganize my reloading setup. It's a mess, thoroughly disorganized, and stuck in the unheated and uncooled garage. Since the psycho hose beast took off, I see no good reason why it shouldn't be in the kitchen or something equally evil. Currently things are stuffed into boxes which are well on the way to self destruction and subsequently stacked into a corner specifically to ensure that I can never find anything I'm looking for until after I've already procured its replacement. This is only slightly less fun than stuffing a hedgehog down my pants.

I need a chronograph and some dedication, at least for a while, to working up the absolute level best and most accurate loads possible for my weapons. Accuracy first, cost second, loading simplicity third. A range load and a self defense load for every gun I own, preferably with both having very similar recoil and point of aim characteristics so I can practice with ammo that's cheaper but still behaves (approximately) the same way as "the good stuff."

Finally, in an only loosely connected vein:
Vote according to my beliefs. I shall never again compromise on a candidate. EVER. I don't care if some say I'm "throwing away my vote," I will only ever vote for the candidate with whom I totally 100% agree on all issues, and whom I truly believe has the people's best interests at heart rather than just his/her own.

Oh, I resolve to have a beer and chill out. This sounds like an excellent idea.

2. Believe the growing hype due to the building uncertainty of the current political landscape.
3. Rip up whatever propaganda card the NRA is going to send me concerning $5000 hunting rifles and $100 boxes of ammo.
4. Choose wisely which reloading components to hoard, especially primers and hollowpoint bullets.
5. Remember that what I buy now I can trade later when everything firearm related is banned.
6. Forget that the FBI processed more than 1.5 million background checks in the month of December - a new record.
7. Remember to go to the SHOT show next week so that I can be prepared for the upcoming second American civil war.
8. Remember that this list is just for fun. That my security cannot be found in things, even things that shoot, but is found in Jesus, whose power far outweighs pieces of steel that throw pieces of lead.
