Hello everyone.
I'm still in the rifle market and I've determined after spending some range time, that after I get my own place and a .22 rifle that I want to get a AK-74 type rifle. Problem is, the only AK74 type rifle I can find only is a bullpup version on J&G sales. I've heard good things from the 3 reviews from J&G (5 out of 5 stars each) but does any one have any experience with this unique looking firearm and did you like it and more importantly, would you buy it for around $520?

Saiga conversion worked for me. You could also try Atlantic firearms. The Tantal is pretty good. Classic firearms is a good place to look also.

The trigger on the AK bullpup is pretty poor, I'd certainly not recommend one as your first AK.

I've the 7.62x39 model and the front end get too hot to hold after one mag (maybe more is cooler climates) so I had to kludge on a vertical fore-grip. I posted photo of it here a while back.

Unless you just think bullpups are the bee's knees, I's suggest something else. IMHO converting a Siaga is probably the best bet as the chrome barrel is big plus when using the cheap corrosive 5.45x39 surplus ammo. You can shoot it as is while saving up for conversion parts and researching how to do it.

I will buy the 5.45 bullpup to add to my collection, if I find one at a gun show for <$550 as being a Century gun I won't buy without inspecting it first.

Last time i looked Atlantic had really nice problems on Arsenal 74s. Both the Russian and Bulgarian are awesome.
