The previous Well got the new 10gauge blunderbuss out today. I am generally more of a precision and less of a 'scorched earth' kinda guy but I couldnt pass this one up. The previous owner had mounted a removable M15 grenade launcher sight on it and had made some custom slugs. I had some trouble dialing it in, was grouping around 12" at 50 yards (without the sight and just using the front bead standing, 80g FFG and the custom slugs.) One would think blunderbuss and bench shooting would never be in the same sentence! I tried the launcher sight on the bench but I think I have some shimming to do or adjustment as the POA and POI were not quite right.

I also loaded it with 7 .315 balls and shot a target at 25 yards. They all hit the target and grouped around 18"x15". Not bad and much less spread than I was expecting.

Was also able to recover a slug for fun.

Pretty blunderbus. I presume the grenade launching site was stuck there for fun. The arms' bells do not spread shot -- bus' were used for close in heavy loads for defense. The bell was for fast reloading and added color to conversations. But as soon as the load left the barrel it's bell had no effect... It is a big, stocked, pistol.

So cool. I want one so bad. I would love it if somebody had one converted to a shotgun. I just love the way they look.

ya, they are a shotgun, I am just shooting RB and Slugs for fun, along with the removable grenade sight. It is fun shooting at 50-100 yards

Time to load it with a handful of those .315" balls and let 'em fly.

I'd like to have my TC New Englander rebarreled with a blunderbuss barrel.
I've considered boring it out to 20 gauge and using it as a BP shotgun, or bore it out and chop the barrel and use it as a musketoon.
But, a blunderbuss would be the ultimate BP fun.
