So I am at the gunshow a couple of weeks ago and come across some .30 cal Sabots. I figured what the heck try them out! I loaded up the .22 cal, 55 gr FMJ I had laying around ran them over the chrono at just under 3050fps. HOLY CRAP :what:are they accurate! here is a pic of 5 shot group. sorry about the bad phone pic. A nickle will cover this group from 200 yrds! check out the pic of the .22 next to my normal 110 gr Hornady.

PS don't try this thru a suppressor and don't ask me how I know.

Not to rag on you but doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of this round?

WOW - You guys missed the point !

Always interesting to try something new. and this proved to be a pleasant surprise for the OP. He didn't say anything about making the sabot his perminant loading, or his priority load . Just an experiment with excellent results and a good thing to know about the 30 caliber sabot bullets for use in other cartridges as well.

Well if the guy bought the 300 to hunt with then the sabots are a cheaper way to load .224 cal bullets for varment hunting than buying another upper.

That kind of accuracy

with any bullet is damn good, but is amazing with a sabot.
