Campbell said she reached for her .38-caliber revolver just as Spencer allegedly fired at her. She felt Spencer’s bullet whiz by her chest as she fired back. Her shot hit Spencer in the chest.

It’s impossible to tell how many bullets were fired at 2 a.m. Saturday morning on English Avenue, but what started as an armed robbery attempt turned into a full-blown firefight.

Things can happen in less than a blink of an eye but it appears Granny with a colorful past can handle herself.

Think of how many more places he would've broken into. Or how many people he might've hurt during his robberies.

She's a Ninja Grandma. How many of you would react/ think about moving your seat back during a firefight to avoid getting shot. They don't teach you that in any self defence class I have heard of. All instinct reaction or her guardian angel St. Michael was working overtime.

I'm glad it worked out however this line was a little disconcerting:

"Sometimes she didn’t miss. Some 35 years ago, she shot her husband and his mistress after catching them together"

and no charges were filed? Something sounds suspicious about that.

I thought the same thing, but the article did not say what country she did the deed. Some countries ( not as many as there used to be ) it depends on the country and what type of connections the family has with the local LEOs or government. Guys who mess around on their wives in some countries end up with a whole lot more/less than they bargained for. I have not spent any length of time in the Philippines for many years so I do not know how it works there but would not be surprised if it is still business as usual.

probably not too smart to say she keeps one in the car. i bet she isnt always in the car. keep guns off the streets and out of the wrong hands. dont tell too much about what when where and how many.

I'm pretty sure Sky nailed it. I doubt that the previous incident took place in the U.S.

Shot her husband and his mistress 35 years ago? Back then it was called a "crime of passion" and considered justified.

In certain circles in France, survivors considered the scars from such incidents as proofs of true love: she loves me, she really loves me, ouch.

BTW the link to the article worked for me. No subscribe.
