Liberty Door panel vs Canon Door panel

I have a Liberty door panel, and it works very well. Attaches securely, seems to be reasonably sturdy, and is quite versatile. Top half holds handguns, knives, etc. Bottom half is zippered pouches.

My retailer delivered the safe with the panel already installed.

I was thinking those door storage panels were safe specific unless it's some after market job.
In other words the one Liberty offers are for Liberty safes and the same thing for Cannon,Amsec,etc.

Depending on your safe model some of the handgun pouches on the Liberty may interfere with you shelves. The door is quite close to the shelf as-built and there may not be room for a handgun between them. This can be remedied by relocating shelves or storing ultra-thin guns in door pouches.

I have a Cannon safe and the Cannon door hanging kit. The top hooks are firm and the bottom hooks are on elastic bands. When loaded with six pistols the pouches sagged and swayed when the door was opened. I fixed this by installing screws with washers behind the locations where the pistols mount. I have no concerns about the Velcro coming loose, but I did have to drill into the wood panel on the door. The pockets on the organizer are where I keep my car titles, social security card, passport, copies of insurance and registration info, and just plain handy to have.

I paid $40 for my organizer from Academy because I need instant gratification, but you may find it cheaper online. Overall I am happy with it after my slight modifications.

auO1st,what type of light kit did you use.
The illumination is very similiar to a kit I installed.

@GoWolfPack: If the shelves are removable and the mounting clips are such that allow this mod, you can trim them down an inch or so and make room. I used to do this with cabinet shelves all the time.

Have you loaded the door panel up yet? I'd love to see a pic with a couple pistols & to know your thoughts about the quality etc.

@heeler: I found 4' LED strips on eBay in white similar to the kind I use for actinic supplementation on my saltwater aquarium, so I knew the quality I was getting. They are 12v and I have a ton of 12v converters sitting around so I just wired it up. The lights have double sided tape on the back of them and just stuck them in there. The one on the right is actually on the door so when the door swings open the light is pointing back. I have yet to hook up a switch like I want, but they are LEDs and very low wattage.

@asahrts: I don't have a pic of the panel loaded down. I actually moved recently for a promotion and the safe didn't come with me. I still own the residence it's in and it's safer there for now. Aside from the things I mentioned above, I'm very happy with the kit. It has held up just fine the few months I've had it and if I ever needed another safe I wouldn't hesitate to get another door panel.

Good to know that auO1st,I put some in my Amsec BF that seem abpout the same brightness.
They too are 12v LED strips that are very easy to install.

Yup, very similar setup. Mine are the same with surface mount LEDs, just done DIY instead of a kit. Big thanks to my dad for teaching me stuff when I was younger.
