PA IDPA Sactioned Matches coming up!

I've been kickin' around the idea of the State match. I'm born & raised in PA, but never shot a match there, so I thought it might be fun. Depending on my schedule, though, I may have to instead opt for the GA State match the week after. Unfortunately, it's unlikely I can do both.

Aaach. Well, I'd love to meet up with you, and Hollidaysburg is a really cool (and rather unique) place to shoot a big match, but GA would be a sweet match, too, I'm sure.

Hollidaysburg is an old Skeet competition range so most of the bays are all clustered together on flat ground, in sight of each other which is kind of unusual around here. Makes for a neat vibe, with everyone all together. I've been suggesting it would make a great host for a big match for a long time.

Now, the MD told me he's going for a fast-paced, back-to-basics match, and I think it will be limited to 10 or 12 stages as well, IIRC.

Will be attending the Lewistown Patriot Match with a couple friends, squad 23. Went last year, was very challenging for my first year of IDPA. Plan on driving up the night before. My friends have been to several matches at other locations, and they expressed how well organized the Patriot Match was last year. I almost forgot, the lunch was delicious!

Im heavily considering the Hollidaysburg match. Only 2 hours from Morgantown, WV.

Sweet! I don't have my bay assignment yet, of course, but I'll be one of the SOs, so shooting Friday.

A free bump for the thread to let Sam1911 know I just registered. Another wheelgunner to swell the ranks. ;)

I haven't figured out the squadding thing, though: I see the squad lists & what's available, but haven't figured out how to select one. Am I supposed to self-squad, or will I just be assigned?

Hey, that's terrific! Can't wait to meet you, and having my butt handed to me will be an honor! :D

You'll get an email confirmation with a link that takes you to a self-squadding screen.

Thought about shooting the Hollidaysburg match with some friends who are going, but the Independence Match in W-B left a bad taste in my mouth for the bigger matches. Shooting the NYS IDPA championships next weekend, so maybe if that goes better, I'll reconsider.

This is not surprising to me.

And now I can relax. Right...with a Garand-only service rifle match Saturday, our monthly club match to write, set up, and run this Sunday, and then three days of the PA State match in three weeks! :)

I'll see you in PA, Sam.

Looking forward to a fun match!

And many thanks for all your hard work!

Just got Staff assignments this morning! I'm CRO for Bay 2. We're going to have a heck of a good time!

Can't WAIT! :)

What a great match! It was fantastic to meet Mr. Borland finally, and hats off to him for a fine showing.

It was indeed a fine match! Great staff, venue, Cs of F, organized; heck, even the leaves were in full color!

It was great meeting Sam1911, too, and I wasn't entirely surprised to find he's a class act. Besides, he shoots a revolver, so he's obviously got good taste.

Unfortunately not me. I've been curious to see Lower Prov's new range set-up, but I can't ever seem to get down there. Good luck, though!
