Good Lord...

Is there any other "quality" maker of somewhat low cost optics (red-dots) for the AR? I ask this other than the obvious Primary Arms...

They may be a great company. Probably are. It is just impossible for me to order from them, as they are constantly "sold out".

I would like to purchase a fairly basic red-dot, with 3X mag and kill-flash. Pretty basic. If you guys have some suggestions, please let me know. I would like to keep it $250.00 and under, though if this is unrealistic, I can move my pricepoint.

I've got a Sightmark on my 870 that I like so far, but I've only had it about six months and only shot it twice. It lists for about $125 and includes a co-axial laser with momentary switch. Can't help you with the magnification component though.

Vortex sparc or bushnell
These. The Sparc is a fine choice, and can be had by searching for less than its nominal $200 price tag.

The Bushnell TRS-25: Diamond in the rough, with a 3.5 MOA dot with intensity settings from dim as you need in low light to bright as blazes on a sunny day. Weighing in at something close to the cumulative heft of a herd of baby hummingbirds, it's slapped on and forgotten about with its small foot print. Can be shot both eyes open, parallax free (I've used this extensively on ARs) and can be ACW or lower 1/3 cowitnessed with the slough of UTG rail sections on Amazon.

If sub $250 is your goal overall and inclusive of the mount, optic, and magnifier...I suggest the TRS-25. I trust my life to one, after seeing the abuse I put it through (2 winters hunting deer in knee high snow at freezing temps, summers shooting prone at long range in post 100 degree heat, and wet springs in the MO crick beds and oak swamps popping coy dogs) I've nothing more to ask of it. Plus, it's like $90.

I bought a SPARC to have a NV compatible optic in the collection, I have an EOTech 512 and an EXPS2-2, neither of which are NV compatible. I've been very pleased with the SPARC, the included 2X magnifier doesn't get used. My only complaint is the width of the control "pod" on the side, it makes the SPARC a bit wide, although moving it forward makes it seem narrower.

I bought it after reading this review on ar15.com:

My current low cost/low profile optic is my Burris FastFire II (not the III) on the Burris AR-F3 mount.

The only complaint I have about the II is that it is auto-adjust brightness only - I don't mind auto-adjust, I just wish the initial brightness level was higher. The Leupold Deltapoint auto-adjusts, and is brighter, but is also twice the price.

Burris addressed the brightness issue in the FastFire III, it is still auto-adjust, but also has presets for brightness.

The size of the FasFire gives me some mounting options that the SPARC and the EOTechs don't - if I am using a magnified optic, the FastFire fits nicely on a 45-degree mount next to the scope. Right now it is on the KISS AR, light and simple.

The AR-F3 mount has protective wings, and houses the tool to install/remove it from the rail, and also the tool to remove the sight from the mount for battery changes, all in a rubber housing within the AR-F3.

I've bought several TRS-25s from Opticsplanet. They're great sights, and they come with a lifetime warranty. I have two mounted on ARs and one on a G21. Not to be nitpicky, but the TRS-25 comes with a 3 m.o.a. dot.

Hmmm...I thought 3.5. This whole time I've owned them, I've been lied too!!!
