Ok... so I have struggled with this rifle for a few years now and it I cannot neither get rid of it, or make me like it. I am stuck between.
I love the looks of the rifle with no scope on it, because it has that "Dangerous Game" rifle look, without the large caliber. It is also a good 100 yard gun... but that seems to be the extent of the "good"....
Also, I got it for $100....
The first problem with this gun is with the cycling of rounds. The typical round nose 30/30 rounds do not seem to load properly. This is common, so I found a load that works...
Powder - 21.7gr of H4198
Bullet - 150g BTSP Hornady
OAL - "Just short enough to function in the magazine...."
This load cycles and gets decent results... the top group was shot before making some scope adjustments and the bottom group was the final group post adjustments. The scope is a cheapo range finding tasco.
I am not sure what to do, as it is not much of a bench gun and I do not feel confident with it in the field. Just not sure what to do with this charm.
