I bought a couple 33 round aftermarket glock magazines from CDNN recently. Your guess is right, JUNK. First the mags are very difficult to load , even with a speedloader. I did get them fully loaded and took them to the range. Constant jams, failure to feed, simply horrible. I brought them home and filed out the excess plastic on the inside of the feed lips, & the followers to make sure they were moving freely. I went back to the range and the problems went from about 90% to about 60% of the time. I have heard replacing the magazine springs can help. Is it worth replacing the springs or should I just cut my losses?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You had a 90% fail rate. That would have bought those mags a return trip for me. You've gone from a 90% fail rate to 60% by doing some QC that should have been done at the factory. Still not acceptable, but now you've modified them and most likely can't return them.

I'd keep shooting them to see if they get better with use. Try different ammo (you don't say what you're using but it can be part of the issue, even with a Glock). FMJ tend to feed better than JHP, for example.

I wouldn't bother with springs until the rest of the possible causes are ruled out, and depending on the costs involved, maybe not then.

Well I tried to return them and had no luck. I normally shoot winchester white box or federal fmj. I tried switching brands, different grains, hollowpoints, & no change in the performance.

I have had exactly zero luck with aftermarket glock mags. Honestly the 33 round factory mags can be found on sale quite often. If I lived in a state that allowed them, I would have a bunch of them. Ohio is restricted to 30 round mags and no one makes a true 30 round glock mag even though they are almost always advertised as 30.

Yeah I did. That improved the performance a little bit but nowhere near where it should be.

Do you have or know a person with a glock 33 rounder to swap springs? Also you may want to try one of your factory followers and flat base plate.

I got some from Botach Tactical and they work fine and not sure if they are the same ones that sold by CDNN. They came in sealed paper bags. I wouldn't trust my life to them but makes really good range mags to load up before going to the range and skip having to load up at the range.

Own one. Junk. Traded it in for a replacement. The whole mag would auto eject. Still junk.

Aftermarket 33 round mag that does work? Korean made in brown fiber sleeve from Cabela's of all things - on the sale rack for ~$18.

During the 1994-2004 period of the "Federal Assault Weapons Ban" section of the "Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act", there were lots of pre ban magazines for sale in Shotgun News at high prices. Many quickly learned that non "factory" magazines could cause jams.

The "Let the buyer beware" point of view applies to magazines.
If a magazine is for sale, we should ask, "What is it's pedigree?"
We should educate ourselves and be suspicious.
