Connecticut shooter did NOT use a rifle

Um, I think you're wrong. That video appears to have been aired in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, when conflicting reports of the event were being passed around left and right.

This thread should be locked if that is the case.

There is a lot of back and forth on this. The coroner's report is still saying that the kids were killed with close-range rifle shots. I could see a lot of deliberate obfuscation on the part of the MSM and ban enthusiasts, making sure people only hear the worst possible set of 'facts' until a vote of some kind happens.

We know almost nothing first hand. The police have been very tight lipped about what they found at the shooter's home and AFIAK have released nothing to anyone. There have been conflicting reports about the hard drive's status among other things. Nobody really knows.

I am hoping to see more cocrete proof than the coroner's report.

The fact that they haven't said anything else leads me to believe that a rifle was not used. And of course, if it was, being legally purchased in CT, it would almost surely be compliant with the two assault weapon bans they already have in CT...

Can we wait for the ME's report? And then dissect it?

Shouldn't there be plenty of people and organizations with reports that would include information regarding what weapons were used, without needing the ME's report?

What firearms, specifically, were recovered, and where from...what unfired ammunition was recovered...what magazines...spent cases (quantity/type/locations)...etc

The film I saw of the gun coming from the car trunk made it clear the long gun in the trunk was NOT an AR rifle . The operating handle was on the right side of the gun with the officer working the handle to clear the weapon. It will be interesting to see what happens with this aspect of the tragedy.

It would be nice to know the facts.

Especially since some politicians are trying ram legislation through as quickly as possible

Its confusing, I remember the first day of the slaughter they reported there where 9mm casing all over the floors and the weapons were Glock and Sig and that they found an "assult rifle" in his vehicle. Then the next day the coroner said all the wounds were made by the Bushmaster, and the shooter killed himself with a 9mm. Hmmm, You don't suppose they had the coroner say it was the evil assult rifle with high capacity magazines that did all the carnage, so the president could push his agenda to bring back the Clinton ban.

Right,richie. It's 1963 all over again!

Dozens of First Responders, cops, forensics folks, all lying for Barry's Cause. What could be their rationale for perjury? :scrutiny:

Would you mind linking to these reports from "dozens of first responders", please?

I certainly don't recall seeing "dozens of first responders" reporting on what was used.
