I have refinished several stocks (grips) Patched small holes and general refinishing. I do other woodworking and have tools.
My question is on a set of SW grips that are pretty beat up, I can improve them but there is a small chip out of the corner, I always want to try so here it is.
I was thinking of chiseling(carving) a small piece out of the back and forming it to fit. then glue and fill any cracks. This way I would have the same grain of wood.
I have done furniture but never anything this small.
Any tips or suggestions appreciated on the best way to remove a small piece of wood to use as a repair?
Thanks
