Seems like every magazine, pistol, ammo and rifle I'm interested in is out of stock.

Is there anything semi-automatic that's immune to this mad rush? How are the 1911 prices?

Found a store with boxes of .223 for $5. I bought them all. I also bought some .40, 12ga, 9mm, and .38 for a fun day at the range.

I've noticed non-EBRs are about the same if not slightly depressed; my guess is many potential buyers are distracted and not bidding on "Fudd" rifles . I picked up a MAS 1873 and Ithaca M37 for 150$, each, in the last week or so

Meanwhile, PS90s are over 2000$ on Gunbroker...so much for that dream:(

I ordered a PCR at the CZ Custom shop today at lunch. It was the "normal" price, at least until I started adding options;)

I was at the gun show last weekend and about everything I saw was normal except for ARs, magazines greater than 10 rounds and 223 ammo.
There were no reloading components at the show that I saw.

AW magazines

:eek:Today I went in my local gun store and to my surprise they had a new shipment of magazines for AR 15 Magpul and Bulgaria plastic mags for AK's in 7.62x39 each was priced at $100.00.They also had a few new steel AK 30rd mags for $75.00 eash. WOW !!!

Try finding ammo for the 5.7 or the PS90. On a high note all of the 22 round mags I ordered for my G35 arrived today.

I believe we are past the first rush for ARs/AKs. My LGS has a decent stock at the moment any my preferred online gun sellers are now stocking ARs again -albeit at huge markups. I am curious to see if the rush continues.

Ammo will continue to be short, but nothing dramatic is going to happen until the AWB legislation is submitted to Congress, which could happen quickly.

I picked up a "high capacity" XDm at a good price recently, but there does seem to be less inventory in general. I am surprised that the "panic" has not spread to all firearms on Whine-stine's radar.

This is probably a good indication that the buying public is not educated enough on what the ban would actually imply.

My wife has urged me to go to this weekend's gun show. She thinks I deserve it, and who am I to argue with her? I may go just to get a laugh at the prices some people will think they can get away with.

Or if the past is any clue, I may find something unexpected and underpriced given my esoteric tastes and oddball gun accumulation.

Since the frenzy began I purchased the following at regular prices:

Choate Tactical Stock
Nikon Buckmasters Scope
(2) five round magazines for my AR
2K SR Primers
2# Varget
500 Barnes Bullets (Although Grafs is about 10-14 days behind on shipping)

Keep in mind, these are just purchases I would have made anyway, not panic buying. AND most of it was on sale.

In all the local ammunition shops, including Wal Mart but also smaller sporting sports, there is no ammunition for the common calibers. .45, 9mm, .38 all gone. Few boxes of .40 and .357. 7.62x39, .223, .308 all gone. No hi cap magazines to be seen of any kind nor expected to be from what I've been told.

The only rush on prices I have seen are on semi rifles and their caliber of ammo. All other prices and stock have been normal. If you don't like the prices swap to revolvers.

I've seen semi-auto pistol prices jump by $50-100 on some models - its not just the rifles.

That said, during all this rush I have been tempted to pickup a bolt-action .22WMR rifle (namely the Savage 93G) which has been on my wishlist and doesn't seem to have been affected at all :).

Local Walmart and Cabelas has .45, .308 and .223 (Although .223 is limited to 10 boxes per customer @ both stores)

I think that those in Maine who are likley to own a gun, already do. Those who are not... well.. they are not...

I still have a lot of "high capacity" pistols being transferred, and people seem to be getting them for reasonable prices. I guess with all of the "assault rifle" panic, lots of folks are still able to find Glocks, Sigs, Hi-Powers, etc.

Who in their right mind feels the need to horde .22 lr?

While I am certain there are gun owners stocking up on .22, a lot of it is new owners. I've had a bunch of people transferring .22 rifles and pistols and saying things like "I've never owned a gun, but it seems like I need to buy one now, and these are supposed to be good for beginners."

Friends tell me they can't even find 22 lr. Who in their right mind feels the need to horde .22 lr?

People cannot find when they are looking for, so they buy something else.

I told my wife I had to panic buy my tactical stock for my remmy...

Her response...

"No wonder your gray, you panic a lot...."

Maybe people are practicing more with .22's now and saving all the center fire rounds?

If you were not around during the last ban or election EVERYONE was looking for .223, 9mm, and especially 22lr and primers. :banghead:

Maybe grassman but I bet the people who owned guns before this all started and actually practiced were not out stocking up on anything.

Just got back from Academy. Bought 8 boxes of 9mm. No limit to how many boxes you get, but the customers were pulling all ammo off the shelves faster than the kids were stocking it. I'm gonna be headed to a different Academy in a little bit and see what I can see. They're still selling ammo at the same price as before the scare, BUT one of the guys said they werent stocking any "assault rifle" ammo.
