I just donated $100 to the NRA to help us keep our 2A rights in the face of a serious assault. Anyone else willing?

I hope you guys donated to the NRA-ILA fund directly, as giving money to the normal NRA membership fund is only used for programs to train new shooters, educational expenses and whatnot. ILA funds cannot mix with the membership money.

+1,000,000. Not that the other stuff isn't important, but the ILA NEEDS the funds right now to fight the impending train wreck that is AWB II!

Done. $25

I joined (first time) earlier this month... I did not know that the membership funds made no impact on the lobbying efforts. Thank you for that knowledge.

Donated as well directly to the NRA-ILA. They're going to need every penny we can get in the short term here.

Couldn't give much, but gave the ILA everything I could. Will do the same next week, and the week after. (You get the idea!)

NRA is the most effective advocate we have.

My check for $100 is in the mail 12-29-12.

Join me please if you can. This is going to get rough for a few years.

Just donated $100 to the NRA-ILA.

Just imagine if everyone just donated $5 or $10. I have been a long time member but have not given in the past. I plan to remedy my scrooged behavior for the future. :)

to be fair

there have been many times in recent years when the "regular NRA" has been > the ILA and Chris Cox. I could mention Harry Reid, Joe Manchin, leading from behind on National Parks carry, and many other instances.

BUT, now is not the time to go after our own, no matter how flawed they are. It is an US vs. THEM situation. I only mention this because the training new shooters, training policemen, and firearm safety parts of the NRA ARE important. The ILA is not inherently better, though it is probably the most important part in this fight.

I say give to both sides, join GOA, and join your state and local 2a rights organization. In my opinion, the state and local orgs can be the MOST effective in actually increasing 2a rights, i.e. ccw.

every gun owner needs to donate

Every gun owner in America needs to not only join the NRA, but try to donate more to the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (ILA). I don't have much, but i will be sending a monthly check for about $25. What;s happening in the State of NY can easily happen anywhere. Any local or national pro gun legislative group needs our help more than ever before. Also, if you have friends who own guns and are not NRA members, I'd give them a lot of **** about it.

I tried to donate to the NRA ILA 3 times today, but I kept getting an error.

Hopefully it is because they are getting swamped. I had the same today (I try to donate each pay period) and found that refreshing the page cleared the error.
