I wonder if thats PS headstamp (non corrosive) or KA stamped (corrosive). The PS ammo has been great to me, cant tell it apart from Lace City surp or Greek surp.
 
Might be worth buying for the bullets and brass. I couldn't see running corrosive primed ammo through my M1, mainly because I don't want to break it down after shooting.

What about reusing the powder as well?
 
Of course, the vast majority of Garands were used with corrosive ammo. It works just fine and stores better than non-corrosive ammo. Cleaning isn't that big of a deal - millions of troops managed to use them without crumbling in their hands.
 
Ash, I know you're right, and I shoot it all day in bolt guns. I just ain't going there in my Garand. Not when I can roll my own or shoot HXP.

While they really don't get into the chemistry here is another read on corrosive priming compounds.

As to the Korean stuff I have no personal experience with it as I like to roll my own. I have heard both good and some bad so it likely depends on the lots and how the stuff was stored. As to manufacture some seems to be more consistent loads than others.

The main deal breaker with the back then new non corrosive priming was more a matter of reliability and storage. The military knew what worked and remained with it until better, more reliable non corrosive priming was available. That would be my take anyway.

The only Korean I have is the PS and it has never given me trouble and performs as well as Lake City fodder. I picked up a ton of corrosive 7.62x51 for my M14 and have had no problems with that, either.
