Anybody tried to buy any caps? All the places I checked, Midway, Dixie, Gaff&Son, Cabalas, all out with no back order. Ought to be a interesting year.
Glad I got my old Flintlock. Plenty of flint down in the creek. If this keeps up,
We all will be shooting Flint.

That's weird - I ordered several different kinds from Dixie just recently, no problems... and I just checked and the CCI #11 Magnum are definitely in stock. Don't know about the others.

Update: RWS caps still in stock. That's two for two...

I bought one of those Tap O' Caps, and ended up giving to my brother. It makes ''OK'' caps for a Kentucky or Hawken, but they wouldn't stay on my revolvers.

I found some #10 Remington caps at a local gun dealer that specializes in Black Powder. They were $8.50 per tin. Sheeeee, but I bought 5 tins. At that price they're about twice as expensive as .22LR in bulk packs.

I just ordered and received 1500 Remington #11's from Gamaliel. They are now out of stock, but if you search, you can still find them...Don't give up:)

I'm glad I bought that 20,000 two years ago for 38.00 a thousand. CCI No 11.
People were telling me I was nuts!!.

Oh, I donno, just bought two boxes of Winchester Super X .22, 100 round boxes at Academy. They limited everyone to ONE box, so the wife and I bought one each at 9.72 a box. That's 20 bucks on 200 rounds. But, I bought 'em because they were there and it seemed stupid to buy a 50 round box of cheaper stuff they had there when I could get 100.

I popped into a Bass Pro and was pleased to see they had both CCI and Remington caps in stock. (The one in Manteca, CA for the record). They were out of a lot of ball sizes though - no .530, no .454 although they had .457. Maybe half the slots were filled although they'd kind of spread out what they did have so it wasn't so obvious. They had FFg but not FFFg 777 powder. You get the idea.

BHP!! I do have some vintage musket caps, wont fit on My hawkin conversion nipple, waterproof, takes a couple of times for my rifle to set them off.
Interested ??? I have about 5 tins I believe they are alcan,I don't want to buy a vintage musket to use them.

I'll swap for some powder if you are ok with it,I may have paid 5-6.00 a tin so I'm not going to jack them up. We can make arenge to meet at Jacobs or something. No I hav'nt talked to your Briother.
