I have the Redding #2 scale. I love mine, much easier to use than the Lee that came with my kit. Also have a Redding Die. Good quality stuff.

You only messed up if the kit does not suit your needs.

Redding is not the bargain that Lee is (though both are quality, the Redding is smoother and stronger) It's like a fine Porterhouse vs a good hamburger steak. (Lee's detractors will also point out that Lee makes some scrapple, too, but I am not talking about the Reloader press, but the Classic Cast).

Without knowing your shooting/reloading needs all we can tell you is that Redding is top-notch and you got a good press. Whether it is good for you is unknowable without:

What calibers will you be reloading?

What quantities will you be reloading for those calibers?

How much time will you be willing to devote to those quantities

What is your budget?

Will you be putting your gear away after each session or leave it set up permanently?

How much space will you devote permanently to a loading area, if any?

Do you want it to be portable?

What are your shooting goals? Cheap ammo? Ultimate long-range accuracy? Casual plinking, Serious competition - what kind? Cowboy Action Shooting? Strictly hunting?

In the meantime, welcome to reloading and congratulations of a fine kit.

"Did I make a mistake buying a Rolls Royce (Redding)?" GOOD HEAVENS NO!! You WOULD have made a mistake if you bought a K-car/Yugo or Corvair (Lee)! Not having tried a Lee Cast Classic anything, yet, so I can't say about them, but I have owned or tried just about every other thing Lee ever made, so I can have an INFORMED opinion about them.

Yes, I know, an INFORMED opinion!! How often does THAT happen?! Not only here, but ANYWHERE on the net?! Of course for every "My Cast Classic is great", you can find a "My cast classic is a piece of junk!", and that includes the "Lee only" sites as well as other reloading sites. What you DON"T see is "my Redding/Dillon/Forster is junk"! Oh I'm sure some whiner will jump in here and say they had a junk Dillon/Redding/Forster whatever, but then there are some who seem to follow me around to attack me no matter what I say. If I disagree with them I'm an a-hole, if I agree with them I'm an a-hole and if I ignore them I'm an a-hole. Amazingly enough, NONE of them seems to want to talk about FACTS, just slander me and call me names, simply because they have no facts to argue with what I say.

You really need to step back and maybe take a break from the reloading sites, you act like you're letting it get to you. They're just reloading presses.

I bought the T7 as my first press 2 months ago along with their trimmer, powder measure, scale and dies. So I am certainly no expert on the subject . I have deprimed and resized over 1,000 .223 cases and reloaded over 400 .380 rds at this time. I really like this setup.
Service from Redding is excellent too. I stuck a .223 case, and in the removal process I lost the decapping pin. I emailed customer service about a replacement pin. They sent me 6 pins and a complete decapping rod assembly all at no cost to me. A Redding customer of life here.

I use a Redding Ultra-Mag press for sizing. It's a monster and it makes the job very easy. Seems to be very good quality.

Nothing a little grease and some use won't cure.

Redding makes some excellent equipment, so far the only redding product I have found that is junk is the flash hole deburring tool, it went straight to the circular file.

I have CH, Pacific, RCBS, Lee, Lyman, Herters, Hollywood, Bonanza, Forster, and Wilson dies, and of all the dies you can still currently buy, the redding dies are hands down the best for a standard press. Smooth, least runout, repeatable, and long lasting with top notch warranty and service. They aren't cheap though!

Redding makes the best screw in dies to be had IMHO. I love my scale and powder measure. But the case trimmer was sub par and the boss press new was as loose as a $5.00 dollar honey on hay street.(yes I was in the 82 abn div at Ft Bragg) Gave them away and replaced them with a Rock Chucker and a LE Wilson trimmer with Starret mic. Both work as advertised money well spent. JMHO.
