What is the last gun that you bought?

20130328_223943.jpg

Today was my wife's birthday and these were her presents: A Colt Police Positive (.38 Special) and a Colt 1903 (.32 ACP).

Why do I think this fascination she has with Colt is going to get expensive?

1944 Mosin 91/30. My first Mosin!

I'm almost ashamed to say that I didn't buy it until I already had 7 guns, and it was the one I wanted first, the reason I got into guns.

First post!

Last gun I bought: Taurus judge public defender poly.

Last gun I aquired: Springfield xd40sc. Given to me by my father-in-law.

No chance to shoot either of them yet. Soon I hope!

Well just after the panic set in, my brother decided to part with an AR. It is a 24" RRA Varmint. I loved the way it shot so I traded him my Reminton 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD. I missed that rifle everyday since. Yesterday I bought another SPS AAC-SD. I bought a NightForce ATACR to top it off. Now to find a replacement stock and replace the bolt knob. I already set the trigger. Sorry for the crappy picture, they are from the IPad..

I recently backordered a Ruger MKIII 22 LR as a way to reduce my ammo expenses compared to shooting the G17 or the LCR. :uhoh: I had one of those Ruger 22 target pistols in the 1980s and just loved it. I'm looking forward to rekindling the love affair. ;)

Most recent shotgun was an IAC Hawk 982 Pump 12 Gauge a few weeks ago (Remington 870 clone). That sucker is solid and sweet! Looking forward to firing it for the first time soon.

I'm waiting for the prices of AK-74 rifles to drop so that I can get back into shooting rifles at 19 cents / round. I just can't bear to burn up 7.62 or .223 at prices closing in on a dollar a round.

Most recent rifle is a beautiful Mosin Nagant M1891/30, bought from Big 5 for $99 about 18 months ago. Just an amazingly nice specimen. No ammo shortage or insane ammo prices for that gun, which is a nice bonus.

^^^ I have a hawk 982 with ghost rings youll love it. For a chonamade 200 dollar gun they are rock solid and mine has yet to fail.

My most recent purchase a savage bull barrel .22 mag w/ accutrigger and a 4-16x scope. Shes a sweet little package

Winchester Model 70 in 30-06. Mostly bought for the action, as it's getting a #7 Douglas barrel and McMillan A4 or A5 as soon as everything shows up.

I love me some GLOCK

I bought, or at least ordered and paid for, a basic black GLOCK 20SF on 3/30. I am hopeful that I will have it in hand by mid-May. It will join my OD G21, FDE G23 and Stainless Ruger GP100

SIG-551a1 . Bought it last week and finally got to pick it up today. The best part about it was that I got to use my UPIN for the first time and it worked. Proceed with freedom! :D

I'm a long time 1911 guy and I'd heard many good reports on the STIs. I'd considered getting one for some time. I recently decided to try one and bought this one, a new bull barreled .38 Super. I've owned/own more expensive 1911s,e.g., Baer, Wilson, Rock River, etc, but have to say that, IMHO, the build quality of the STI compares very favorably...

I picked up a Ruger GSR at a gun show NIB for $900 OTD (included $70 in tax) on December 30. I put a Leupold 2.5x scope on it, at first, but have since replaced it with a Hi-Lux 2-7x, as 2.5x just doesn't cut it with my senior citizen eyesight. With Ching Sling, spare mags, case and ammo, I now have twice as much in it, but it is a nice shooter. Short, sweet, and handy. Sort of like a Scout Rifle. ;) Just waiting now for an opportunity to go hog hunting with it.

A Ruger M77 in .243.Stainless,laminated.Its my wet weather deer rifle.I've taken two doe with it so far.

Where I live, many places won't even put your name on a list; they're out 3 months or more. I waited 9 months to receive a call about the M&P Shield 40 I put my name on a list for.

Mini 14. I didn't think I wanted a semi-auto rifle but Feinstein's newest rants convinced me that I needed one. I got a nice stainless steel, folding stock ranch rifle. Great fun to shoot.

Well, I just bought a Walther P22. Love the grip, but unfortunately it's not for me. I gifted it to my mother for her birthday. She loves it. Great little shooter. I got a chance to do some shooting with it myself. May have to put another one on the list.

This place got 200 of them in on Friday. One of the employees alerted the members on another forum and many of us got one. I got home from vacation today and was too late to pick it up so I will have it tomorrow.

It looks like they got more in today. They have 127 in stock now at $429. Enter this catalog # in the box on the left. 180021

My latest purchase was a Ruger Mark III Target model, blued. I have wanted one since childhood and finally used the latest gun buying frenzy as an excuse to purchase one. Now I can't wait to do some minor mods to it.

I gave my local gun store a call today looking for a 4" S&W 686P that I've been looking for for awhile now but can't seem to locate. The lady on the phone, who sounded very busy, said they didn't have 4" but that she thought two others had come in today that she believed were 6"ers. Instead of making her go check I decided just to take a trip down there and hold the 6" to see of I would settle for that instead of the 4". Besides, I could always still get a 4" when I found one.

When I got there one of them was indeed a 6" but the other was alittle...... different :) it was the 5" Talo with an unfluted cylinder and "357" wood grips. I jumped on it. Still warming up to the unfluted cylinder. I really like them on 44 mags but, for some reason, like the looks of fluted cylinders on 357s.... I'm a weirdo.

Last Gun I Bought

A PHP MV from SOG, since they (along with other guns), are quickly disappearing from the market. It is sitting at the gunsmith's awaiting repair of the slide stop spring. It was received that way, but I didn't want the hassel of returning through the dealer, pay for return postage, possibly getting one in worse condition, etc. SOG offered a small credit. Want it fixed fast so I can finally shoot it.:fire:

After 3 weeks of waiting for the NJ State Police to complete my NICS check (should have just gone to PA and gotten it done in 15 mins), I finally got my Mossberg 500 Bantam 20 Gauge! My first shotgun:

8623224312_f4618e3c22_c.jpg

It took me a bit to take a picture of it as it came from the sporting goods chain store FILTHY - it's a couple of years old and the packing oils really gathered a TON of dirt in that time. Additionally, my Otis pull thru kit may not be as good as I thought (or at least not for bores this big). Must have taken 15-20 patches each for the rifled barrel and the smoothbore before I got clean pulls through, using Hoppes 9, a brass brush, and a "Squeegee" during the process as well. The bores went from dark and grimy inside to SHINY. Performed the full breakdown and rebuild so I'm familiar with the weapon (and got everything inside cleaned up and re-oiled) and now I'm ready to go dirty it up at the range tomorrow morning!

I replaced the rock-hard recoil pad with a Limbsaver, and replaced the front bead with a tritium bead by Meprolight.
