Now if we could pass this and open carry maybe we can rank better on some of the lists...

Currently, a license requires 10 to 15 hours of classroom time. The measure by Sen. Donna Campbell, R-New Braunfels, would reduce that to four to six hours. Instructors told the Senate Criminal Justice Committee that’s plenty of time to cover handgun safety.

The bill would require those who want to renew their license to take the same course as those getting a license for the first time, instead of a shorter class. It would also allow anyone renewing a license to take the course and exam online. It doesn’t alter the requirements for practice on a firing range.

I believe it may end up a 6 hr class but if this Lady's bill is passed as is, then the class will be 4 hrs long.

I wonder what that would do to the renewal classes??

+1 on the open carry

that is correct... 2nd renew no course just payment... you can open carry in TX... but only on your private property...

I passed on this nonsense altogether and just got a FL CHL.

Even in Texas the liberal mind is gaining a foot hold.
Texas is considered a "purple" state by many and many Democrats think they can push us to blue just as they did in Colorado by controlling the major urban areas. Dallas, Harris (Houston), Travis (Austin) Bexar (San Antonio) counties, and most of the south Texas border counties are blue. Almost all of the rest of the state is red. They still have a ways to go, but the blue in South Texas is almost all hispanic and is spreading so the next 10-20 years is critical. Any immigration reform that includes amnesty could be a major problem.
