Simple question... How many EDC guns do you have, and are they the same type? Example: You carry four or five different 1911's varying in size, but manual of arms and feel are essentially the same, or you carry your 1911 one day, your Glock another, and your PM9 the next. Different sizes, manual of arms, and feel.

EDIT - EDC meaning "Every Day Carry". And reason I ask, is I was thinking about adding a 1911 to the carry rotation, but having to train for a whole new type of gun seemed to be more trouble than it was worth.

Every Day Carry

I have a 1911 that I carry every day, and a Signa that I used to carry, but now sits on the nightstand for the wife while I'm not home. I carry it maybe twice a year , now. Mostly when I fish from a boat. Id rather my 1911 not be list in a "tragic boating accident".

Unless you are carrying multiple guns everyday do they count as every day carry guns? If I carried one 1911 one day a glock the next they wouldn't truly be EVERY DAY carry guns would they?

I went with what I have carried vs what I could carry if I wanted to do it. I believe that was the spirit of the question.

I wonder why I see the same question like this on a half dozen forums the last week, is somebody trying to capitalize on buying crates of a certain brand?

Or I guess it could be "popularity" shopping, I often do that on Amazon, I just base my choice on sheer popularity.

1, it's a question about how many people carry one type of gun vs. many types of gun. Nothing to do with brand or popularity.

2, keep your mouth shut if you've got nothing useful to contribute.

Diamondback db380 pocket carry most days
Taurus 651 357 pocket carry carry about 2 times a week
S&w model 12 iwb carry in winter months.

"I" carry an RIA 1911 A1 every day, though a few times I DO carry the wife's S&W M&P 40C but not EDC or even close to that.

Currently these 3 are in my rotation

Beretta Type M
Colt LW Commander
S&W JFrame

Ive been thinking hard about making some changes, just need to get off my butt and order new holsters for some of my others.

I don't have ONLY one pocket knife either. I really wish I was the kind of guy to be satisfyed with only one, for the sake of my wallet.

I seem to go to extremes, I'm either pocket carrying a KAHR PM45 or a NAA Mini, or both. I also keep a p220 as a truck gun along with a rifle of some sort under the back seat, don't know if you count those as EDC, I didn't, I voted 2 different ones.
Traffic stops can be fun with 4 guns in the truck, they sometimes forget why they pulled me over in the first place. Lol.

I like carrying my Beretta Jetfire, Kahr PM9, S&W 442, and Kimber Compact CDP. Most of the time it's the Beretta or S&W as they are light and I live in a place where street crimes are just about non-existent. I'm getting used to the Kah and that may move up in the rotation. I carry the Kimber or another full size 1911 when I'm in the back country for SaR activities but am also familiarizing myself with my FNP-45 and sticking to the one magazine.

I am limited to three on my permit, and I prefer a single manual of arms for carry, so currently it's G30, G26 and G36. I may bump the 36 off the permit for a 23.

Just one. I think I'll sooner buy an identical EDC as a spare than buy a different platform as an alternative carry. I've given thought to changing things up, but I always come back to the same conclusion, which is to just keep it simple. When I'm in the mood for options, I'll go to the range and have fun with a variety of guns. When I'm carrying, I want simplicity, familiarity, and consistency.

That may not be an issue for other people, and that's great. Just giving my thoughts on my own carry habits and priorities.

Why did you limit it to five? I get what "+" means but that could be as few as 6.

I would have to say four different types of guns on a rotating basis as my EDC. And more like six or more guns in the availabe line-up.
