Harry Reid comes out supporting AWB

Probably a "safe" thing to do now since it is apparent that it won't have the votes to get through the Senate anyway.

He will always protect his b*t first! Even if it means throwing everyone else under the bus.:scrutiny:

There has been a big line drawn in the sand this year and it should define the direction this country goes on guns in the next election cycle. Many have shown their true stripes and need to be turned out and sent home.
There will always be those from protected districts but I would think that senate races should be up for grabs in states with even the most anti gun cities. Ill NY CA to name a few. If Nevada re elects Reid if he runs again I will be shocked.

He was against it before be was for it. Now that the AWB has little chance of passing, he is covering his 6 and playing both sides.

Hopefully the good folks of Nevada will send Reid into retirement.

Kids, this will never be over....they will try till the end! We can never relax in our efforts to defend the 2A.

I have never voted for "Harry Reid" in the 20+ years I've lived here, and I'm a life member of the NRA. The reason being I allways knew he was a phony, when it came to the 2nd Amendment, in fact when I asked him questions in regards to gun control he allways beat around the bush; in a pre-prepared statement.

Fortunately, he did say, when he was running against Sharon Angle, that this would be his last term. I'm sure you can take that with a grain of salt. He is definitely an Obamanation! That he is for gun control does not surprise me in the least.

Reid is playing both sides here. He has been slow-walking this mess to the floor for 4 months. If he really wanted it to pass it would have been here in January.

Don't trust him but don't underestimate him either, whatever your position is.

If I knew how to, I would post the email I just sent his office. He's a disgrace to those of us that live in Nevada. His weasily(sp) ways are finaly out for all to see. The hell with him.:cuss:

The only reason he ran the last time (2010 if I recall) was because he was majority leader. I doubt he'll run again, so he's just showing his true colors. His nickname will probably be "pinky" again (a nickname he used in his own re-election ad). The ends justify the means/lies seems to be a trait of many commies...

Just got an interesting tidbit of Senate procedure. If the Senate leader votes for a bill and it fails, he is forbidden from bringing that matter up for a vote again during that session. So Reid's "Yes" vote effectively seals the fate of the AWB until 2017.

Keep in mind that Reid only won reelection by falsely accusing his opponent, Sharron Angle, of being a racist.

His reasoning was that the argument for ownership of "assault weapons" as a method of deterring tyranny (the only reason for ownership he gave) is not as important as "...saving the lives of police officers, young and old, and innocent civilians, young and old...".

Restricting civilian ownership of modern rifles, which are the type of firearm least used in violent crime against both civilians and police alike, is more important than keeping a well armed population as a deterrent to tyranny?

Hey, its not like its a founding principle of our government.

Oh, wait...

:scrutiny:

Wow. I had no idea. I trust you, but can you point to a source? I'm pretty good with Google but can't even begin how to search for something like that.

Uh.. A guy on the Internet said so . I probably need a better source for that. I'll see what I can dig up.
