Hope this announcement is acceptable.

There will be an awesome WW2 event tomorrow 18 May 2013 at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington MN. I know there are a few Minnesotans here who might like to check it out. It opens to the public at 10:00.

There will be restored vehicles, and many of us all suited and booted up, many in authentic uniforms with historical weapons.

I will be the Master Sergeant in the 505th Bat, 82nd AB.

Get it right, Lex. It was the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. Bust yourself back to T/3.

Wish I could be there to see it or better yet, be an unsponsored Finn or Serb and just flit around the edges messing with everyone.

Some photos after the fact would be cool, LEX.

I took my Dad to a WWII reenactment a number of years ago. It was held on a large farm and there were a number of military vehicles (U.S. tanks, half-tracks, jeeps, and armoured cars), and a few aircraft on display as well. For the reenactment it was U.S. armored infantry versus German Mountain troops set somewhere in France and the Germans were waiting in ambush for the U.S. troops. Lots of period gear (along with a lot of pyrotechnics, smoke grenades, and blank firing weapons), and everything looked very authentic and realistic for the time period.
