AR15 question

Does anyone know how far back the bolt should be able to go when pulling the charging handle, as in should the bolt completely go past the ejection port or should it line up with the rear most edge of the port or stop before completely reaching the edge of the port? Just to clarify I don't mean when the bolt is locked open but when actually pulling back on the charging handle as far as it can go and manually holding it open.

DSArms ZM4 upper carbine length gas tube, PSA Full Auto BCG, SAA lower with no name buffer tube. Issue I am having is an occasional stove pipe. Weapon has been cleaned and lubed properly, extractor has good tension, have tried it with and without the oring on it and it still occasionally does it. Have tried with a carbine buffer and an H buffer. Has done it with every magazine I have tried, old and new.

My BCG goes past the ejection port, maybe a 1/4 of an inch and I am thinking that the rifle is either over gassed or it is because the BCG is going too far back that when the spent casing is finally ejected it is getting flipped back in to the chamber when the bolt is coming forward.

Ammo has primarily been XM193 from Federal, have had it as bad as 3-4 stoppages per mag, have tried the American Eagle .223 ammo that comes in the black boxes as well as running a couple of mags of wolf. The wolf only had 1 stoppage in two mags, so that leads me to think overgassed.

Brass has been ejecting in the 2:00 area of the "chart".

I haven't checked the ejector pin hole but I will be sure to do that. I won't be able to go test any of this for 2 months as I have just made a move and must wait 90 days before getting a license that will allow me to shoot my rifle at a range.I have the H buffer installed but have an H2 to try when the time comes but still wondering if the distance that my bolt goes back should be something to worry about or not.

Not sure on the actual length I will measure it when I get back from work.

To backbencher: I am living in Huntsville and working in Decatur. To use any of the rifle ranges close by you must have a valid hunting license or another type that will also grant access, a wildlife support or something. To get one I have to have continuously lived in Alabama for 90 days which will be in about 2 months. There are clubs that have ranges but their memberships are full so I can't utilize their facilities. I hope that explains what you quoted.
