New AccuBond bullets

The AccuBond bullet is a very good hunting bullet and almost as tough as the Partition. It's made for longer distances and does work. I have used then in a 30-06 but not the 270.

I have not used them in 270 but I have in 25-06, 6.5x50mm and 7mm rem mag.

the groups sucked in the rem mag.

the bullets vaporize on contact with the 25-06.

and I had a problem when I shot my bear with the 6.5 were the bullet immediately split in half and both halves took off in 90 degree angles from impact. I lucked out and both halves hit vital organs but both could have just as easily left superficial wounds that could have made the bear linger for days before dieing.

I do not recommend accubonds anymore, I'll load up what I have left for varmints and then start testing partitions instead.

also, I've had good luck with speer deep curl bonded bullets. I'm not sure if they are available in 270 yet but they are amazing in 30 cal.

You are the only one I know of who had bad things to say about the Accubond bullet. Is it possible you loaded them past their recommended velocities?

negative, especially in the case of the 6.5. it was barely traveling the recommended MINIMUM velocity when it had it's little mishap.

Just bought a box. Need some more brass to have for working up a load but ope to have some done before Oct.

I've loaded the Accubond, but not the LR as yet. The Accubond has performed very well for me in several cartridges. But the best hunting bullet combination I've found for .270 win. has been the Speer 130 gr. Hot Core, elk and bear results were awesome. I think the new Hot Core is now called the Deep Curl, not sure but that's what I've been hearing.

Everyone has their own desired combination, but I've always felt that the .270 win. functions at it's best with a 130 gr. bullet, and stout charges of slow burning powders like RL22, IMR-4831, and IMR-4350 for MV's in the mid 3100's +.

Hot Core is not the Deep Curl, I load both. The Hot Core is a molten core poured into a jacket, this eliminates the lube used to slide the core into the jacket and hence reduce the chance of it slipping out on target. The Deep Curl is a lead core electroplated with a copper jacket meaning the two are actually bonded together, both are tough bullets, but not the same, just a quick look will show you the Deep Curl has a longer ogive.

Don't know about the LR but I shoot the standard in both of my butt kicking guns. I use the 165 gr in my 300 Wsm and the 110 in my 257 Weatherby. Neither vaporized and the 257 is nearly maxed out.

Same here. They have always worked well on game for me. Heck the regular Nosler's have killed everything I have ever shot with them. Both are very accurate.

I have not used the 150 LR's but just worked up some loads for my 270. It shot the 140 Accubond's best of 5 different loads. Just be sure your rifle has enough twist to handle the 150's. I would like a 1:9 for those.

My best 270 load to date is the 140 Accubonds with a max charge of H4831SC.
Recipe is straight out of the Nosler Load manual..

I had good results on elk with the Acubond 165 grain in 30-06 last fall. Broke 2 ribs, devastating on the inside. For me, partitions group just as well, and neither as well as thin skinned bullets like Nosler ballistic tips or Hornady sst.

I have not tried them, but I like what Nosler is promising.

I have had Berger VLD hunting bullets suffer from being too fast.
I had to shoot a mule deer 4 times at close range with a hot loaded 7mmRemMag.
