Rem 870 with deer, duck, and short barrels

How about...

1. Glock 19
2. SIG P229 SAS2 (9)
3. Ruger Blackhawk .357
4. Ruger Mk III
5. Browning Citori White Lightning
6. Mossberg 590A1
7. Colt 6920
8. Winchester M70 EW - 270 Win
9. Winchester M70 Alaskan - 375 H&H

Aaaand...

10. Arsenal SGL-21

Easy. I only needed eight. The last two are filler I'd like, but could easily do without.

I only get 10 guns, forever and ever?

Assuming I get the spare parts necessary to keep them running, in order, something alone these lines:

1. Glock 26
2. Quality AR15, typical 16" 5.56
3. Glock 19
4. S&W 15-22
5. Another quality AR15
6. Another Glock 26
7. Snub nose J-frame size revolver, airweight chambered in .357
8. 12 gauge shotgun, preferably a good semi auto, would take a pump if money was a factor
9. TBD
10. TBD

I'd have to think about the last two for awhile. I'm not going to play that "one gun but 6 different uppers" game, but I'd have a .22lr conversion for one of those Glocks.

Warp-- Im with you on the 'parts'. This has to include scopes & etc. it also has to include the 22 upper on the 1911. Good call. That is why I picked the 870, could have been a Moss 500, but I prefer the Rem.

Part of the reason I chose the M1A instead of an AR 10 ( with the 338 Fed upper :) ) is that it doesn't look like an Evil BR...my wife doesn't like them. With all that she lets me have I won't complain...

10 firearms is the limit I'm placing on myself for now. Sharing an 800 sqft apartment with my wife while saving for the honeymoon has created certain limitations.

1. S&W K-22
2. Browning Buckmark
3. Kel-Tec P32 as my CCW
4. S&W K-38
5. 1903-A3, inherited from my grandfather
6. Browning Takedown 22
7. Savage LH 22 with a nice scope
8. Remington 870 currently stock
9. (Blank Slot) to be filled with a 9mm, I'm leaning towards a FNX
10. (Blank Slot) to be filled with some sort of battle rifle, I'm thinking AK pattern or SKS

Currently that makes my caliber footprint 30-06, 12ga, 38 special, 22lr, 32ACP.

I'll play....

1. Marlin 39A - .22 S/L/LR - Have it.
2. Colt 9640 (can I get a 6.8 upper with it?) - If I can't have two uppers, that works too.
3. NULA Model 24 - .280 Rem
4. Winchester M70 Fwt. - .30/06
5. Winchester M70 Safari Express/Alaskan - .375 H&H
6. Winchester/Browning 1886 REPRO (for better steel) - .45/70 - Have it.
7. Winchester Model 12 - 20 gauge - Have it in 12.
8. (Older) Browning Auto-5 - 12 gauge - Have it.
9. S&W Model 27-2 5 inch barrel - .357 Mag
10. Colt Commander - .45 ACP (or .38 Super) with .22 conversion kit - Have it in .45. Need the conversion.

I'm working on the rest...

8. Savage Lightweight Hunter .308
9. Winchester 1892 .357/38
10. Glock 20 10mm

Not one 9mm needed. And oddly I have all these guns.
I would love to add the Tavor Bullpup and Marlin Camp 45 to the list.

This thread is much easier than the one-gun-only thread. For me, a nice collection of 10 useful firearms might look like this:

Long Guns (rifles):
1) Savage Mark II .22LR
2) Winchester M70 .22-250 Rem
3) Winchester M70 .243 Win
4) Winchester M70 .270 Win
5) Weatherby Mark V .300 Win Mag

Long Guns (Shotguns)
6) Remington M870 12 gauge
7) Browning Citori 12 gauge

Handguns:
8) Glock G19 4th Gen 9mm
9) Glock G20C 3rd Gen 10mm
10) Glock G21 4th Gen 45 ACP

This is a fun thread! Thanks for starting it.

1. Pump 12ga - Mossburg or Remington, probably.
2. A semi auto, iron sighted, accurate .22 - can we say Marlin 60 with tech-sights (or similar)?
3. Semi auto "battle" rifle - probably an AK with synthetic furniture.
4. A 9mm full size semi auto - Glock 17? Or maybe Walther PPQ.
5. A .30 "reach out and touch something" rifle - Remington 700 in .308 with durable scope and bipod
6. A powerful revolver - likely a full frame S&W in .44 rem mag
7. An accurate bolt action small call rimfire - say .17HMR (or .17WSM?)
8. A 1911 (since this is an Ultimate list, how about a Wilson Combat)
9. A quality AR with red dot or low mag scope.
10. A quality .22 handgun - Buckmark or Ruger, likely.

I feel like Im missing a good lever gun in here.... but I cant decide what I'd give up for it.... maybe picking "just" 10 is just not good for me :)

My tentative list:

Arsenal SGL-21 7.62x39
Remington 870 12 gauge
Glock 26 9mm
Glock 21 .45 ACP
Savage 111 .30-06
Marlin 1895 .45-70
S&W 617 .22LR
Marlin 795 .22LR
Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum

If I were to enter the game fresh with zero weapons and having inherited none from folks I love very much-

1) 5 1/2 inch Ruger Single Six Flatgate
2) Colt 1911 Gold Cup Trophy
3) PPQ 9mm
4) A fine 20 ga SxS
5) Original Ruger 10/22 Sporter
6) Properly sporterized '03 or '03-A3 in 30-06
7) Marlin 1895 LTD III 45-70
8) M1 Garand
9) M14
10) AR15, including 22 convertor

and I'd be pining hard for an original S&W 686, a FAL, a 308 AR, a Colt Anaconda 45 Colt, a Marlin 1894 Cowboy 45 Colt, and a good single action 45 Colt. I don't think I could limit myself to just ten

This is a fun thread! Thanks for starting it.

I have no cash so this is my THR time right now.

I TOTALLY get you "can't keep inherited guns" qualification...I still want to keep the rifles my boys will inherit from their g-dads...as I only have 3 I the above list ( but more guns than those 3), Id have a real hard time trading mine. But I have a few that I could strategically trade. Unfortunately my list doesn't include a CCW...but I live in CA so it really doesn't matter.

Glad to see Im not the only one wanting a 375 H&H!!!

I have absolutely no need for one, but I think everyone should have at least one "heavy" rifle (ok, 2, because you can't go without a .45-70!). I've been drooling over the M70 Safari Express for a while. Just in case the local zoo animals bust out....

This thread is hard. I left off at least three, maybe four guns I would really like to have, but couldn't justify as they overlapped with others or only filled niche roles.

I'm working on owning all of the ones I listed. Halfway there...

1895 magazine lee enfield
1899 lee enfield cavalry carbine
1906 charger loading lee enfield
LRB m14
m1 garand
m1 carbine
browning hi power
s&w 686
ruger 22/45
luger in 9mm

I wish I only had 10 guns. It is a PITA to carry all of them from north camp to/from south camp each spring and fall......chris3

.22LR rifle
.22LR pistol
.357 revolver
compact carry gun

Lists like this make me realize how gun geeky and spoiled we are. I've never owned 10 guns at one time in my life. To be sure I'm not into the competitive gun sports where for instance a skeet shooter probably has several shotguns but how many ancestors do you think you have that ever had ten guns?

In this post-industrial age (US) manufactured goods are definitely more prevalent and affordable than they used to be.

I think if we were going off what I use vs what a dream list would be, it would be different. But every gun on that list (other that 10 obviously) I use for something throughout the year and they've never failed me. So I really see no need to change it.
