OK, the SMKW catalog arrived and was promptly put on top of the tank for reading material. So, looking at the 'new" Frost machetes page the Bushmaster III catches my eye. Looks kinda cool but has anyone (Sam..) swung, chopped, sliced or diced with one yet?

Don't spend any money on any Frost product.

If given one, sell it before using it and get something usable.

This isn't a machete, per se, but a big knife that weighs a lot more.

Don't let that stop you from getting it. At only $30 you could run a review and we could all see how it performed.

This thing?

Finger groves are a bad thing on any hard use chopping knife.

As for the blade...well, hso offers much wisdom when he advises you to not purchase Frost Cutlery since a botched heat treat or inadequate materials in a knife/chopper this size can be actively dangerous to the user.

No Sam, it's the one with the "old school" wood (pallet?) handle. No notches or grooves on the back of the blade or handle.
I pitched the catalog to remove any and all temptation... :scrutiny:
Must ... resist... buying... stuff...:uhoh:

This 'un?

Well, at least it wouldn't give you a blister before it blows up in your face.

Resistance is futile. :D Besides, you only live once....unless you are a Hindu. Or Buddhist.Or Jain.

Mosey on over to SMKW and buy a great machete for $10 or less and get to chopping.

That welding jacket better have kydex panels in it. Everyone's seen this, right?
I've always marveled at how the other guy jumps in like nothing happened. Almost like they expected it.

I'd probably recommend duct taping handles onto a lawn mower blade before I recommended some of those "Saturday night special" blades.

That Tru-Spec is a great deal. I'm one of the last people who should have a machete in his hands, though...
