    25-45 Sharps

Sounds as if some dude has re-invented the 6.5TCU - 6.5mm projectile on a necked up 5.56X45. The TCU was also available as a 6mmX223 and a7mmX223. Mostly developed for Thompson-Center pistols for shooting the steel ram targets.

    wanted lemat holster?

Love to know where they got/who built that LeMat carbine for them. The only LeMat carbine I've ever seen was at an interesting shop in Oyster Bay, NY.

H&R "22 special" top break questions

When you get around to shooting this old revolver, I think you will be pleasently suprised at the inheirant accuracy it is capable of. I have had several versions of the H&R line, old and newer, and all of them could shoot better than I could, heh, heh.

Can you identify this scope mount?

Bausch & Lombe Balvar mount. Made for use with scope(the Balvar part of the name) that didn't have adjustable reticle; the reticle was etched on the glass and as such was fixed in position. The scope is zeroed by adjusting the mount using screws that move round cams - one of which you can see...

What's the most durable, widely available gun finish?

Walt Birdsong's Black-T seems to be favored by several large federal agencies.

need some help on a bsa Martini in 223 looks like an 1895 Martini Enfield rifle

Is it a small frame or large frame Martini? Some folks will say that the small frame Martinis will not support a high pressure cartridge. I have a small frame one done in 7mm/.223(.223TCU) and haven't had problems(yet); YMMV of course. Price wise that's not a bad deal IF the job was done...

    Best deal on ammo cans?

I would go with the .30 cal cans for moving ammo unless you are built like Arnie the Terminator. A 30 cal. can full of almost any kind of ammo will weigh 25 to 35 pounds. I would want a hand-truck to move SAW cans full of ammo, heh.

    My 637 is corroding

Check with Walt Birdsong(W.E.Birdsong & Assoc.). I believe his Black-T finish will go on aluminum. It will laugh at your sweaty hands and other body parts. IIRC it's about $160 for a handgun. Full disclosure here. I've got his finish on several pieces from a Smith model 34 to a SS .50BMG...

    Another Burn Notice thread

On "Bones" one of the main characters referred to a Glazer round as "...a custom-loaded sniper round." I almost threw a shoe at the set.

    6x45 vs 6MM TCU

Thanks for that info steveno. Years ago I picked up a Martini that was in 7mm TCU. It's been sitting at my dealer's place for about 10 years waiting for him to rebarrel it back to .223. I believe I'll relieve him of his burden the next time I pass through his shop. I had been thinking of...

    S & W model 12-2

Not to snark, but you can ask whatever you want to ask for it, whether you will get it is another question. Seriously, you might check over on gunbroker.com to see if there are any similar revolvers up for sale. Also much depends on condition, barrel length, and finish. Really need more...

    Quick release rings?

Normal way is to mount the ring against the forward edge of the base groove. The recoil of the rifle tends to (try to) move base to the rear as the recoil moves the rifle. By mounting the ring against the forward edge of the base-slot, the ring can't try to shift forward as rifle/base moves to...
