Thanks for the reply! I dissassembled the trigger assembly and found that the sear spring was blocking the overtravel screw hole causing the stoppage. The spring is buggerd up, but I can get a replacement cheap enough though...lesson learned!

I am adjusting the trigger on my Rem 660 and accidently backed the overtravel screw all the way out, and now I can only get it to screw about 1/2 way back in...any suggestions??? Thanks!!!

I don't think there is any best time for a new gun except when there is a slight sub model change. For example you would have been able to get a dirt cheap Rem 700 ADL when the SPS first came out. Used guns pop up like crazy after the season of anything that draws a big crowd like deer or ducks.
