Mossy 835 and rem.870 loaded with 3in #4 buck.Any size BUCKSHOT is good imo,I just use the #4 because I trust it to get the job done (taken a few deer and 40+ coyotes with it)and I have a good supply of it.

Should be able to find a rem.870 for very close to the price of a moss.500.870 is a better made weapon imo (I own both)For home defence,REAL hard to beat a youth model 870 20ga.imo.

Only been just under 3 yr's for me but still carry the same gun I started with, sp-101 357mag.Will be adding a service sized 45 semi in the near future for times when concealment is not as big of an issue for me (not at work)but the sp will still see a lot of carry time.

Wife's carry gun,charter-arms "Red-Lady" 38spl.Nice pistol and she shoots it very well.She also "killed two birds" with this one,as red is her favorite color and she figured that I would not be asking to borrow it,lol!!!!!

Did'nt see what state you are in,but here in michigan it would be illegal to loan a hand-gun to anyone (unless your bro had a CPL)so I would not do it.I would however offer any one of the 6 shot-guns or 4 rifles I own.

Finally took an otter in zone 3 of michigan.While the population is not as big as in the nothern areas of the state,we have more than most people realize.And from the sign i'm seeing while out on my trap-line,it is a growing population :D Otter can be hard to "pin-down" as they leave very little...

I urge her to re-think her carry method,purse is a bad option imo.Hard/slow to get to pistol,get stolen often and probley the first thing a B/G is going to take from her.

I have an sp (2.25in,dao,hammerless)with stock grips and curent carry load is corbon 125gr mags.I have no problems with the recoil,but the most (carry rounds)I have fired in one session is 15.With target 38spls,my son was shooting my pistol at 7yrs old.If I could do it over again,I would go with...

I'll run the 5 carry loads i've had in the sp-101 while at the range.After that it's mostly 38spl's and when i'm done,5 new 357mag rounds get put back in and i'm on my way.

Thanks guys.Kids enjoy it,messing around in the water,snow ect..Wish they could be of a little more help in the "fur shed",but that will come in time.The cat was a tom and weighed 33lbs.
