Own one. They are simply awesome guns. I daily carry a STI Spartan. Others I shoot with have a 2011s and they use the for competition and for off duty carry.

I've got one in 44 mag. I use it for hunting. I can easily put all 8 shots into one ragged hole at 50 yards, a rather large ragged hole but still one none the less. It's scoped and magna-ported and shoots easier than my handcannons. Don't let anyone tell you, you can't shoot them quicklly...

My Spartan shoots so well and has been so reliable, it's become my main carry.

STI Spartan or PM9 Depending on dress.

Springfield is the best of the list. IMO However a Colt will always be in demand.

PM9 Small, full power 9mm +P nuff said.

I have one and love it. Carry it when I carrying a 1911 just is not possible. It's reliable and I've found the recoil very managible. The trigger is actually very good. No problems so far after over 300 rounds...

It's really up to you. I would get the HP. People that own them like them. They go bang reliably and hit want they're suppose to. It's for your protection, not a beauty pageant. The bullets will not bounce off of a BG just because they came from a HP. But then YMMV.
