This is what I did. Got 50 brass ready trimed to 2.005 ALL of them (that took some time) primed ready to go. Got all set up in the back of my truck went to the range. First I found out the biggest chagre I could find at that time 44.5 I have found bigger since then. Loaded 2 rounds at a time...
I also shoot a 700 in 308 using sierra 165gr with IMR4064 witch brings me to a question. What is max load? Depending on what book I grab I am over max other books iam not. I dont got a crono YET! But as for powders varget imr4064 imr4350 and some blc-2 dont like it
Iam giving a 700 a face lift new stock. It was a factory DM now its a hinged floor plate 90.00 new factory. But I want to get this http://www.stockysstocks.com/servlet/the-381/H-dsh-S-Precision-Pro-dsh-Series-Steel/Detail got to save more cash
I got the same rifle this is what I am going to do. Tap it off and spray paint it flat black then steel wool it back off but leave the black in the pores should look kool
Well I live here in MN so thick brush is the norm. If you want to shoot through thick brush at short yardage use a 54cal black powder! But as far as .308 goes 165gr spbt with IMR4064 load it hot.
Yes I will agree brake cleaner is some stinky stuff and will melt plastic take off the nice shinny finish of a stock trash a fishing real (dont ask me how I know)but there is worse. Yes it can raise hell on your hands. Iam not making fun of any one here but after 30 years of wrenchen there is...
Well just on the powder. I got IMR4064,VARGET, extruded BLC-(2) spherical/ball. (I had to go look)So it makes sence to me that a ball would meter better. As witch one is more stable VARGET & BLC-(2) I dont know? IMR4064 from what I know it isnt but it shure works great! I still trickel every round.
