I haven't blindly made up my mind based on this guy's opinion. He does make a good point by point comparison of the three presses, which is especially interesting since he's actually owned all three, IIRC.

Just for the heck of it yesterday, I thought I'd see just how consistent the Lee dipper could be. The only one I have is one that came with a set of Lee pistol dies. (0.5 cc) Just dipping and dumping wasn't very impressive.... lots of variation due to uneven filling and powder hanging...

I tried it again tonight, all cases trimmed to 2.029", etc, etc. It would make an uneven "crimp" that was just barely visible. If I tried to turn the die down a little more, it would start shaving brass. I think the Lee FCD is in order, since it's only ten bucks.

Although there a few really good gun shows in my region, some I've been to lately have not been worth the five bucks to get through the door. I'm getting pretty tired of seeing all the non-firearm related junk that occupies tables. Here's a link to a "gun show guide", good for a chuckle...

I have a Lee shellholder that will not work in my RCBS hand primer either. I guess it must be a "red box" one.

I tried that earlier, but it still didn't work right for me. Just looking at the geometry of how the two things come together led me to try it another way.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it another try and see if I can get it to crimp. I crumpled a couple of case necks before and thought I was barking up the wrong tree.

I've had problems getting my Safety Prime to work properly, and after looking it over, I came up with a solution that's worked so far. I realized that for the little "PEZ dispenser" to properly mate up to the priming lever, I needed to move the primer feed bracket away from the press...

Is anybody aware of a RCBS two die (full length size/seating die) set that is equipped to crimp? I'm pretty sure my#14601 is not.
