Wow, the thread "notify" still works. A Lazarus thread awakes. LOL
The "design" has never really changed IMHO. Big Green tried to cheapen the build process to compete with lesser guns price-wise but the guns are all pretty much the same. The dreaded "dimples" that arrived shortly after...
We have a pair of 1100's here at casa del 9mm and we like them both very much.
One is an old magnum that is wearing a 2.75 barrel now. This gun also has the newer style "one piece" piston and CM lifter. I very dependable gun IMHO.
The other is Mrs. 9mmMike's 20 ga. 1100 Special Field which...
Then I'd say it sounds like cheap/bad ammo or rough chambers. Odd that you'd see bad chambers in two used guns though. I do recall that I had a couple Express barrels that would misbehave after they got warmed up. Spent some time polishing the chambers and they were fine.
IMHO, an 870 should...
That's a great price IMHO. My '70's Magnum was more than that. I put a 2.75" barrel on it and, thanks to byf43, newer seals and lifter. It cycles light loads just fine with all three of my barrels, 28", 20" & 19ish".

I can do this on purpose during dry-fire on several of...

The trouble was that the new owner had not cleaned the gun thoroughly before shooting OR he had lubed the outside of the mag-tube.
Whatever he did, it did not take long before the outside of the tube was all...
It looks exactly like this one in this thread:

However it is has 30" barrels. The stampings are the same as the one's in those pictures but the number is 301nnn on all three parts.
I still need parts! What...
No pics yet but I just picked up a SxS double trigger in 12 Ga. flavor. The only markings are the words "Amercian Gun Co. New York" on the plate (which I do not the proper name for) to which the hammer is attached.
The are no marks for the chokes.
The wood is very nice and it locks up tight...
