Owner of broken rifle surrenders for 30-month sentence

SA- You are a bright guy, and I'm not sure I've got legs for this. My purposes here are pretty much done, I chimed back in because I don't like being quoted out of context. In your definition, you excluded a number of the circumstances of interest for me. The reason I don't care to pursue...

Owner of broken rifle surrenders for 30-month sentence

Carl N Brown: Welcome to the conversation! Check out Post #173. You are just a hair late with your post. Sans- You said that you were going to very simply and bluntly state your opinion, and then you slipped into the Socratic method. An internet UBB isn't really the best place for that given...

Owner of broken rifle surrenders for 30-month sentence

DRZinn- The quote of mine which you took out of context was in response to Sans Authoritas invoking Aquinas with the position that we need not follow laws which do not conform to right reason. I noted that what conforms to "right reason" may vary from person to person, and thus his argument...

Owner of broken rifle surrenders for 30-month sentence

SA- I'm about done with this one. Here are a few final thoughts. 1) My intent in posting in this thread is not to sharpen fine theological points. This isn’t about my personal convictions. My intent is to refute the mis-use of Scripture. You brought the Bible into this discussion, my sole...

Owner of broken rifle surrenders for 30-month sentence

I am not sure what your point is here. No, is the direct answer to your question, although given that it was a response to the Pharisees asking about the suitability of paying taxes to Rome, at a minimum it refers to the financial support of civil government (even a foreign government). Most...

Owner of broken rifle surrenders for 30-month sentence

Stop it, really. I knew this argument would get there eventually. If you want to play that game, remember that it was Jesus who said "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and render unto God that which is God's" The biblical model of authority in the New Testament is clear in showing...

Let's be honest - Range safety

I'd also be interested to know which range you are referring to. I can't see paying the fees for Pinetucky, but I'd like a place close by where I can shoot rifles. I hit up Shooters from time to time for pistol practice, but can't practice the long guns there.

Anyone else like the M1 Carbine for home defense?

There was at least a 4 page thread on this that stayed at the top of the forums for a month within the past couple weeks. Edit. Not 4 pages, but try these: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=274964&highlight=carbine+home...

    30Carbine vs. 7.62x25

That would be a ~800-900 fps gain from the extra barrel length. I don't think that passes the 'ho-ho' test. Most of the load data I have seen has a LOT more powder behind the 30 carbine bullet than the Tok.

who uses the holsters that come with the springfield XDs?

I'll duck the trend. I carry my XD routinely in the factory holster. It tucks closer to my body than the nice Galco I use for my 1911.

Cmon fellas let see what you spend your cash on

My new CMP Inland in a repro M1A1 stock. Future plans include Ultimak mount and some sort of optic. This one is actually a freebie. 03A3 Springfield that my grandfather bedded into a sporter stock back in the early '70s. Does anyone know what sort of a value to expect for one of these? It...
