    case trimmmer: electric vs manual?

I enjoy the hornady trimmer I got a few years back. I prefer the manual just because I dont have to have one more cord hanging around. Plus It makes me feel like im trimming that much more consistently. :D

What kind of powder for 8x57

IMR 4350 is the best all around powder in my 8x57. I use 45 grs with a 220 gr sierra GK and 45 grains with a 200 gr MK. Dead accurate with both. This is in a mixed parts german k98.

    AK to HK sight Installation

Update Here is an update on my project so far. I have decided to go a different route with the front sight. I removed the front sight block (thank you harbor Freight hydraulic press!) and I am going to place the front HK sight in place of the front sight block. Now I run into two issues...

    AK to HK sight Installation

for the front sight I was thinking about removing the whole front sight block and placing the new front sight over the gas block. That would give the two lower circles in the sight something to be around, the lowest circle around the barrel and the middle circle around the gas block. As...

    Counter Bore

Very true Matt. The Finns were smart. They knew the average Russian soldiers weren't "gun people". I can only imagine what they ran into with captured rifles. Its funny. You can find lots of Finnish produced Mosins without a counter bore. Those obviously had replaced barrels. Then there...

    Hunting knife recommendation

Cabela's has got the Knifes of Alaska series that are awesome. I got the caper/skinner set for my dad a few seasons ago and for cleaning and skinning. They are worth their weight in gold. For quartering or deboning a fish filet knife works great. Also invest in a decent steel and ceramic...

    Counter Bore

Well put RC. I have gotten decent accuracy from some old mil-surps that were counter bored. Most 91/30's are counter bored and some shoot great!

    Seeking .223 accuracy load

Varget seems to be popular for the small and fast loads. Atleast my dad does well with them!

    First deer with my AK-47

Awesome Totally just stumbled onto this tread. Hunting+AK=deer meat awesomeness. I have always been a fan of using mil-surp guns and other non "traditional" firearms for hunting. My dad thought I was insane when I bought a mixed parts mauser and "hot rodded" it out. I will admit that there...

That 1960 milled Polish Ak 47 is nice !

For the most part I like CAI. Some guns they sell you are great. Some are not so great. I have had great luck with all their Ak's. Those milled polish aks. look awesome and feel awesome. let me know how you like it and how it shoots! Anthony

    AK to HK sight Installation

Hi all! I am doing some custom work on my WASR AK47. I am going to put on these HK sights from Robert RTG www.robertrtg.com/hkaksightset.html, It says that the front sights have to be cut and welded and the rear sight have to be welded to the dust cover. What kind of welding would I have...
